CIVILITY, MY A**!
The House DFL Caucus showed Minnesotans their true colors yesterday by throwing political bombs in the house chamber on the first day of session.
"I was really disappointed in the Democrats," Sviggum said. "They turned it into a partisan political show, and it was completely inappropriate with members' families here. But the House will rise higher than their actions." Source: Star Tribune, January 5, 2005
I guess Entenza ignored former vice president Walter Mondale's advice given at a pre-session meeting with House Democrats:
"...Mondale also stressed that DFLers should employ 'civil ways, positive ways' to get their job done." Source: Star Tribune, January 5, 2005
Entenza even ignored his own statement on the House DFL Caucus' website:
"I pledge cooperation, diligence and hard work. We and our Republican colleagues must begin a fresh relationship, focused on the future. The Legislature cannot let past battles carry over into the new session or this immense opportunity for unity, moderation and clear common purpose will be lost. Minnesota is more important than partisan point-scoring." Source: House DFL Caucus
