MORE B.S. FROM MIKE HATCH
Earlier this week I posted a copy of Mike Hatch's recent fundraising letter.
Hatch is currently Minnesota's attorney general and he is up for re-election in 2006. But if he is writing DFL activists that he needs "to make a decision on my role in the 2006 election" he must be in the planning stages for a campaign for governor or senator.
But not according to Hatch.
"In a brief interview, Hatch suggested that he was merely taking the party's temperature in the letter and in recent appearances before DFL groups.
'It's really too early to be doing any announcing and too early to do the planning,' he said. 'These campaigns are too long the way they are.'" Source: Associated Press, January 5, 2005
I am not a lawyer (but I have played one on TV), but sending out a fundraising letter is "planning" for a political campaign.
It is not like Hatch and his cronies were meeting sub rosa, plotting for Hatch's conquest of Minnesota and somebody walked in on the meeting.
Hatch sent out the letter and he is planning a campaign for governor or senate.
The only person who can't admit it is Hatch.
