DFL PARANOID OVER BUDGET VOTE
The DFL complained about yesterday's close vote on the budget resolution in the Minnesota House. The resolution passed 67 to 66, with one DFLer missing the vote. House Minority Leader Matt Entenza claimed the GOP waited until the DFL was short-handed to vote on the resolution. House Speaker Steve Sviggum responded with the perfect comeback:
"'They are totally paranoid,' [House Speaker] Sviggum said. 'I hate to be a Democrat and have to be looking for a boogey man under every rock I see.'" Source: Duluth News-Tribune, March 30, 2005
It's the job of Entenza, not Sviggum, to make sure DFL members are in the House chamber to vote.
