THE REPUBLICANS STRIKE BACK
House Republicans alleges conflict of interest
Three House Republicans stopped in Willmar today to urge Senate Democratic leader Dean Johnson to remove two Senate Committee Chairs.
Representative Marty Seifert of Marshall says it's a conflict of interest having Senator Linda Berglin of Minneapolis co-chair the Health and Human Services Conference Committee because her district receives more welfare than any other area of the state.
Seifert says Berglin and Tax Committee co-chair Larry Pogemiller are too extreme and hinder progress. He suggested Independent Sheila Kiscaden or DFL Senator Dallas Sams to replace Berglin.
Representative Scott Newman of Hutchinson and Representative Dean Urdahl of Grove City also made the trip to Willmar. Source: Associated Press, May 25, 2005

I once remember a time, long ago, when disagreeing parties actually negotiated. Now, Republicans seem to want to stack the deck in their favor every step of the way.
Not cool.
Yowling from the Fencepost: More like a conflict in logic.
