Hatch is a fighter and can be a mean SOB, but right now he's in the lead for the endorsement. I don't think there is any way he is not going to run, it's now or never for him.
Unfortunately the GP (general public) doesn't pay attention to stuff like this. This ruling is "inside baseball" to most people, not on their daily radar.
By the time next years campaign season comes up there will have been a completely new and hopefully completed legislative session and this episode will be a 60's rerun in the voters minds.
As much as I'd like Mike Hatch's political ambitions to cease with this ruling, I think it's wishful thinking.
