Man, if only they could get Dick Cheney to come in to town to stump for them. They'd only need like 5 people to show up and pay the standard Cheney event rate ($4,200). I highly doubt that he'd do it, unless it was to stump for "DFLer" Randy Kelly.
Micah, just wondering if you see the boogeyman everywhere. You may want to take a look at that, it could become a dibiliating disorder later in life.
Republican Minnesota sez:
Dick Cheney = Boogeyman
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm glad we see eye-to-eye on this issue.
I was implying that your friend is off his rocker, but now I wish I would've included yourself as well.
Republican Minnesota, you seem to have misunderstood me, I was talking about Mark Kennedy. Cheney comes into town and anyone that wants to see him speak has to fork over $4,200 to Kennedy's campaign. That's a fast way to raise money. Randy Kelly, who calls himself a DFLer, endorsed president Bush for president, meaning that he's two steps away from pulling a Norm Coleman (if you can't get ahead in the DFL, just sell out and change parties).
As for seeing the Boogeyman everywhere, I'd look inwards for a moment. All day long you and MDE attack DFLers for the smallest things, most of which never pans out. Just a thought.
John Kerry did fundraisers that rought in much more money per person than the recent Kennedy Cheney event. I don't remember you crying foul thn.
Republican Minnesota, There is no possible way that individuals gave more to John Kerry's campaign than donors had to at the Cheney event. Campaign finance laws are the same for all federal races. The Cheney event demanded that donors give the maximum amount allowable by law ($2,100 for both the primary and the general elections). I don't remember what the BCRA amount was in 2004, but I know it was $2,100 or less per election. Any amount more than that would be illegal, and frankly the no presidential campaign would take that risk. Any presidential campaing has big-ticket fundraisers. The law is better than before because it closed a lot of the loopholes that allowed unlimited contributions to parties and PACs by individuals.
I didn't really even care for Kerry. There were things that were far worse about him than his fundraising. The same is even more true with Pres. Bush.
