A MESSAGE FROM MDE TO KENNEDY v. THE MACHINE
This will be the only time I publish my criticism of another conservative blogger.
My friends at Kennedy v. The Machine were quick to point out they knew about the DFL Party's story editing more than a week ago.
"KvM came into possession of the linked documents below from the Mankato Free-Press more than aweek ago but declined to run them due to our belief that the Kennedy website story was 'a fart in a whirlwind'."
I find it interesting they didn't post the story because they thought it was "a fart in a whirlwind", yet they are very quick to point out they knew about it more than a week ago after I publish it.
I don't want to think that Kennedy v. The Machine's quick critic of my post has more to do with their own concern about not posting the information.
If Kennedy v. The Machine knew about the DFL's editing a week ago, then they should have posted it a week ago.
We need to combat the DFL with the same tactics they use against us. If the DFL is joining in the criticism of Kennedy's campaign, then we should fight back with examples of them doing the same thing.
I will remind Kennedy v. The Machine that it was the DSCC who helped in the attack of Congressman Kennedy. This is the same DSCC who will spend millions of dollars trying to defeat Kennedy.
In my opinion, "the Machine" is not just the DFL, but anyone who carries water for the Democrats.
I am also concerned about the soft stance taken by Kennedy v. The Machine.
"For the record, KvM does not join the call for the DFL to use the unedited version. They, like the Kennedy campaign, should use press accounts to portray themselves as favorably as possible in congruence with 'fair use'. We would simply ask our DFL friends to put down the stones."
Kennedy v. The Machine seems more critcal of my decision to post examples of the DFL editing stories, than they are about the DFL editing stories.
If the press is going to report that Congressman Mark Kennedy once spit on a sidewalk, you can gaurantee that Minnesota Democrats Exposed will try and find 10 Democrats that did the same thing.
I agree that it's frustrating the material the press decides sometimes is a story. But I don't think we do ourselves, the issues, or the candidates we support any favors by ignoring opportunites to balance media stories with examples of Democrats doing the exact same thing because we think their stories are a "fart in a windwhind."
Fighting the Democrats is a daily struggle and if some bloggers are concerned about being petty or contributing to stupid stories, then send your material to Minnesota Democrats Exposed.
I will attack a Democrat on Christmas and not think twice about it.
Merry Christmas,
MDE

Attacking people on Christmas now? Geez that seems as bad as Newt Gingrich divorcing his wife while she was in the hospital...
Be that as it may, it's no where near as close as Wellstone breaking his two-term pledge.
"I will attack a Democrat on Christmas and not think twice about it."
God bless you!!!
Republican Minnesota: So where is your condemnation of Gil Gutknecht? The man made a term limit pledge which he clearly broke. Oh wait, it is a huge double standard for you. Also, I have to ask, in the end, did Wellstone ever actually break his pledge? Nope, he only served two terms.
Gingrich served his wife with divorce papers while she was in the hospital, on Christmas Eve (I think it was). Now I ask you, which is more important: a campaign plege or a wedding vow? I think the woman had cancer!
Term limit pledges are stupid, just like "no new tax" pledges. Politicians shouldn't make them. To say that Wellstone seeking a third term is worse than Gingrich doing that, then I question both your moral judgement and character.
Again, MDE why not identify yourself and who you work for?
From what I understand Reporters at the strib and elsewhere are getting tired of anonymous attack blogs.
lloydletta: If reporters are getting tired of anonymous attack blogs then they can choose to not read them.
I don't have to identify myself. Where I work has nothing to do with my blog.
"From what I understand Reporters at the strib and elsewhere are getting tired of anonymous attack blogs."
Hey Eva, why not put out one of your patented "virtual press releases"?
ROTFLMAO!
Eva knows as much about the inner workings at the Strib as she does the GOP.
She's a legend in her own mind!
"Also, I have to ask, in the end, did Wellstone ever actually break his pledge? Nope, he only served two terms."
This guy is kidding...right?
