THE MOST PARTISAN SECRETARY OF STATE: JOAN GROWE
I received this information from one of my "unimpeachable" sources.
I used to work in the secretary of state office for several years under Joan Growe and under Mary Kiffmeyer for a couple of years. I don't vote a party line ticket, in fact I vote mostly for Democrats, but this candidate Christian Sande is way off base. If he's going to call for a code of ethics, he shouldn't lie in his press releases and base his press conferences on "rumors". Geez!
And besides, I know for a fact that Joan used to endorse candidates and serve on committees all the time, and not only that, but she had a staff person maintain her donor database at the office, she dictated political letters for staffers to type, etc. When Mary came into the office, all of that ended. Seems like Sande is trying to address a problem that only existed when a Democrat held th office. When Joan left, most of the materials were removed from the office, but I know that some of the dictophone tapes and the computer database were left behind and that one of Mary's current staffers--one she brought on early in her tenure--still had the materials when I left. Maybe he still has them.

Do you have anything better to do than to try and discredit someone not even mentioned in the original story.
Nope, I have nothing better to do than point out how partisan Joan Growe was as Minnesota's Secretary of State.
