Earlier today I was sent an email from one of my many DFL sources with an attached invitation for an upcoming fundraiser for the Minneapolis DFL Coordinated campaign. The fundraiser, scheduled for August 18, will be held at the home of the DFL Party Chair Brian Melendez.
When I reviewed the attached invitation's "properties", I noticed that the fundraising document was prepared with a copy of Microsoft Word registered to the City of
Upon further investigation of the document's properties, I found that the author was listed as Lois Conroy, who is an assistant city attorney for the City of
Back in February, it was the city attorney's office who investigated Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak's illegal newsletter. It now seems that the city attorney's office needs to be investigated.
I will be posting the documents later today for members of the media and other interested bloggers.
Update: I have been informed numerous individuals are looking into Ms. Conroy's work activities highlighted in my post and potential legal developments are imminent.

Great work on this. Anyone who works in government knows that
the amount of political activity being done
at taxpayer expense is outrageous.
Amazing that the same cities that complain about LGA cuts also
have employees with enough free time to do political work.

Imagine that. A Minneapolis "lean against a shovel" employee is also a party head! She was caught using government equiptment to further the party while having nothing to do for her official make-work job? Everyone knows it goes on, I don't see the big deal. She's done a lot for the DFL.
It's simply amazing. The libs scream that this unacceptable misuse of taxpayers' dollars is "no big deal." But, you can bet the farm that if this were a Republican they would be screaming even louder for a head on a plate.
Yet, none dare call them hypocrites.
Political activity on the government dime is illegal -- period. And those, including Republicans, that misappropriate government resources for political purposes should be fired.
