MDE EXCLUSIVE: HATCH AND ENTENZA -- SO HAPPY TOGETHER?
Another one of MDE's fine St. Paul sources learned this week that House Minority Leader Matt Entenza and Attorney General Mike Hatch may now be happy together after all.
Entenza has been telling people that he will announce his campaign for Attorney General on or near the same day that Hatch announces his bid for Governor.
Entenza also says that the big day will happen in October.
Two thoughts here:
#1. Entenza wants to get in the AG's race before any other DFLer jumps in and attempt to clear the field for himself.
#2. Entenza wants to prove there's no bad blood between the two Dems following the brouhaha over Entenza's private eye looking into Hatch's background.
What a glorious day that will be! The DFL's double-expletive spewing, wild-eyed, HMO-hating, pro-life (1994), pro-choice (1990) gubernatorially-obsessed maniac and the snobby, boring, kept man of the House DFL kicking off their doomed campaigns on the same day!
Seems to me that Matt Entenza is forgetting the first day of Politics 101 -- a candidate only has two days when it's certain they'll get decent press coverage: the day they announce and the day after election day. By announcing on the same day as Hatch, Entenza's lame story will be buried.
Not that I'm trying to talk them out of it, of course...

Regarding your old story about Entenza hiring a private investigator, after reading this is it safe to say that it was indeed just a rumor?
Good question.....
