BREAKING NEWS: PHILBROOK ENDS CAMPAIGN
DFL gubernatorial candidate drops bid due to lack of funds
Citing a lack of campaign funds, former state Rep. Bud Philbrook today withdrew his candidacy for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party nomination for governor.
Just three weeks after formally launching his campaign, Philbrook, 59, of Maplewood dropped out of the race. “We have failed to raise the money necessary to carry forward,” he said in a written statement.
Philbrook served one term in the Minnesota Legislature in 1975-76. Since then he has founded and run Global Volunteers, a nonprofit organization that coordinates community development projects around the world. Source: Pioneer Press, October 24, 2005
