The guy is clearly a fringe. None of the candidates are far enough left for him. Not representative of the party at all.
How about if I used some thoguhts from Tony Perkins to represent the GOP?
At this stage, any publicity where you're not in handcuffs is good for you. Doran needs to ramp up that name recognition if he is going to be a threat to Hatch. Running a commercial in every zip code when most people are not think about the Gubernatorial race- except for the news of the day(Hatch announcing), is perfect timing. Hatch(90% name ID among DFLers)news fades away in two days, Doran is still on tv telling you about himself.

Valid point.
The ads are poor, for all that money you would think you could do better then that.
I have to admit, there is no such thing as a "bad" ad when you
a) are building name recognition
and
b) are spending $500,000.
