JOHNSON REACTION TO ENTENZA ANNOUNCEMENT
This is a great statement.
##
State Representative Jeff Johnson, Republican candidate for Minnesota attorney general, issued the following statement today regarding Representative Matt Entenza, DFL-St. Paul, announcing his candidacy:
When I'm attorney general, the office will focus on public safety, consumer protection and job growth - not on politics and self-promotion." Source: Jeff Johnson for Attorney General

Always good to start off by saying how partisan your opponent is when your opponent haven't said a word yet. Good job Jeff.
As one of the few people here who has worked with both Entenza and Johnson, I can tell you that Johnson's got it right. Entenza is about partisanship and self-promotion. It's a game to him, a sport, a hobby.
As a person who has worked with Entenza, he is competative in elections, sure. But not for sport, for the issues he cares about. I don't question any politician's motives. I believe that anyone smart enough to have success in high level politics could be making a lot more money elsewhere, so they must truly believe what they are doing is right. I don't always agree with them, but I trust they think they are right.
If I remember exactly Mr Jordan, you didn't work at all with Entenza. You were one of the biggest partisans without any depth.
That's why you're posting on here and Entenza went on to leadership and now the AG's seat.
Talk about partisanship?
The DFL caucus comes to one less of being of half the caucus. Do you think the Speaker allowed for more staff to reflect this? Nope.
When the DFL was in the majority, did they budget for extra staff requests from the GOP- yes.
With almost one short of half the members being DFLers, do you think the Republicans assigned committees to reflect this? Hell no. They don't care about what the people of Mn wanted, they made sure that the main committees had a three to five republican slant.
Fair and balanced?
How long has it been since a Republican held the AG's seat?
FOURTY YEARS
When people want to be the law to be enforced arbitrarily, they'll vote for a Republican for AG. Until then, that seat will stay in the DFL column. Jeff Jordan doesn't have a prayer of winning the office, but if he did he'd turn a blind eye to the corporate scandal and fraud that Hatch has diligently worked to end and Entenza will continue to pursue. Jeff Johnson is about big business, while Matt Entenza will be about protecting the little guy.
Mr. Jordan - can you tell me why Matt Entenza is the minority leader running for statewide office while you are a former state representative blogging about a political world that you no longer run in?
If I remember exactly Mr Jordan, you didn't work at all with Entenza. You were one of the biggest partisans without any depth.
It's so funny to watch DFL'ers make things up when they don't have a factual response to offer. I was hardly a partisan. I am one of the most pragmatic conservative Republicans that existed. I'm pro-stadium, pro-Northstar, etc. Some of my best friends and supporters are democrats, my friend.
That's why you're posting on here and Entenza went on to leadership and now the AG's seat.
And when making things up isn't enough, the personal shot.
Maybe I should have married into big money like Entenza, eh? I went for love instead of cash.
Jeff Jordan doesn't have a prayer of winning the office
Who is Jeff Jordan?
Jeff Johnson is about big business, while Matt Entenza will be about protecting the little guy.
ROTFL
That's why you're posting on here and Entenza went on to leadership and now the AG's seat.
One other thing - at least I can speak from my experience as one who has put his hat in the ring.
It's easy to sit back and take anonymous and inaccurate pot shots when you've never had the guts to try it yourself.
Mr Jordan, for all you know I am there now, city or county official that is. No desire for the state house.
And you were a partisan. You are a partisan. You are now a rejected partisan and bitter.
You whine about people taking shots at you, yet you take shots at Matt and his wife. His wife has money- she earned it working up the corporate ladder. i thought you guys respected that?
She went to high school with Matt in Worthington, both were poor nerds.
Unlike many other couples, every bit of power from money and politics came from thier own hard work.
Again, you have been busted down to the Bush leagues and want to talk like you're still in the majors.
For all of you talking about people hiding behind screen names, this whole blog is about that! Whomever MDE is, has made a name for themselves by exposing embarrassing and personal information yet, works very very hard at keeping his ID undercover.
Republicans=Hypocrisy
Nice one...complain about cheap shots and then throw one at Entenza's marriage. For the record (I thought you would know this for how well you claim to know Matt) that Lois and he were high school sweethearts in Worthington. So I think there just might be a little bit of love in their marriage.
For the record, Matt Entenza and Lois Quam didn't go to high school together.
Quam went to Marshall High Scool and Entenza went to Worthington High School.
I know you Minneapolis and St. Paul Liberals think small towns in greater Minnesota are all the same, but they have different names.
Check-mate by MDE.
And you were a partisan. You are a partisan. You are now a rejected partisan and bitter.
So now I'm "bitter"? Oh, c'mon. You're an anonymous guy taking potshots at someone you don't even know. When you can't defend your guy, you have to keep making things up about me. And every time you do, you add something more to it.
You're like Sean, nothing more than a bumpersticker understanding of anything Republican.
both were poor nerds.
At least one moved on from their nerd-dom.
(C'mon, you left that one hanging out there... :) )
Representative Jordan, you quick humor is missed in the Minnesota Legislature.
Mr Jordan, you were and are partisan. I have been doing a damn good job of defending my guys on here. Damn good.
Finding out who I am doesn't change what I say, as I'm focused on showing the errors and hypocrisy of Republicans on their site that tries to do the same aith DFLers. I'm not the issue. You on the other hand, inject yourself in when you can. For instance, you start off by saying "ass the only person on here who worked with Entenza..." Well that's wrong. You are not. I have too, but you brought your experience in here as proof of your conclusions in this so you are fair game.
You also made a statement a while back about you, personally you, seeing more DFLers as trying to cheat the campaign finance rules and cited one- Phyllis Kahn. I cited four Republicans and then went after you. Why? You'd have to be a partisan hack to say that. Anyone paying attention over the last three and half years would know that the Republicans are leading the way in getting caught cheating and fines.
And, you are still wrong on Lois and Matt. They both are still nerds. Lovable, smart and successful nerds.
For instance, you start off by saying "ass the only person on here who worked with Entenza..."
If you're going to attempt to use my words, at least get it right.
I never said I was the only person who worked with him, I said this:
As one of the few people here who has worked with both Entenza and Johnson
That's quite different than what you're attempting to put into my mouth. Note, I didn't say I was the only person, but ONE of the only people to have worked with BOTH of them.
I'm not the issue.
The more you mis-use my words, the more you become the issue.
brought your experience in here as proof of your conclusions in this so you are fair game.
Yet you've not used my experience for your own gain, you've attempted to mis-use what isn't my experience for your gain. Making things up about me doesn't help your arguments, it harms your reputation.
You'd have to be a partisan hack to say that.
And you're not?
And, you are still wrong on Lois and Matt. They both are still nerds.
Given I don't know Lois, I defer to your judgment. :)
The bottom line is that you've been unable to defend Entenza and have found it easier to attempt to smear me. I can take it, no problem. But I am curious why you can't defend him instead?
What makes him a good AG candidate? Facts, not politics. What makes him better than Jeff Johnson? Facts, not bumpersticker rhetoric like that big business non-sense from yesterday.
While true they didn't attend high school together, they knew each other through, I believe it was debate. For the record, I went to high school in greater Minnesota and I knew plenty of people from nearby cities and towns, even dated one.
Check-mate-mate?
Representative Jordan, you quick humor is missed in the Minnesota Legislature.
Never again, my friend, never again. :)
And for the record, my wife and I DID go to high school together. Met the last day of eighth grade, been married over 24 years. (Just in case this ever comes up when I run for AG... :) )
JOrdan, lay out the case for johnson and the case against Entenza. I'll do the same.
I'm a partisan. Hence my name. If you got over and read what I've written, you'll notice that I'm not silent when those who agree with me step out of line. Nobody, and I do mean nobody has gone after 'i hate mde' stronger than i have. I was the first to ask mde to file charges and suggest that footprints from the ip address may be present. I also went after the Lefty Liberal on here. I'm a partisan, but not a head up my ass partisan. You however seem to follow Reagans 11th Commandment, "thou shalt not speak ill of another republican". That's what blind partisans do. Hell even 'Repubilcan Minnesota' posted a story on the CIA Leak Indictments on his blog. He titled it "F*ck", but he posted it.
You call DFLers cheaters, and yet when you are gunned with opposing facts, you want to slice and dice how I said something instead of addressing the meat of what I said.
You're a tired partisan that still reaching. Here's your chance.
Lay out the case for Johnson AND against Entenza. I will defend Entenza with Matt's own record and kick Johnson down with his.
Ball's in your court...
I don't what happened to this post but I stated that when you live in a small town, sometimes the better looking girls or the girls that will date you come from other towns or schools. Its the ol' grass is always greener thing.
That;s the case case here, they were high school sweethearts.
I happen to know this part of the state very well. use to debate a skinny kid who read the almanac all the time from Marshall. He went on to Southwest State to debate me in student government and then went on to teach and serve in the legislature where he serves today on the other side of the aisle. I chose to not be poor as an adult and went on to make some money and them get into this political sphere.
Anywho, Matt and Lois are older than e and I never meant to indicate that they were in the same school. Just that as teenagers they were dating.
