MDE BREAKING NEWS: HATCH TO ABIDE BY DFL ENDORSEMENT
Stay tuned for more developments.
UPDATE: Hatch will abide by the endorsement, if he can get the endorsement.
"To take on Pawlenty next fall, Hatch must beat at least three other Democrats for the party's nomination. Hatch wouldn't rule out running in a primary without his party's endorsement, saying that decision will depend on caucus turnout." Source: Associated Press, October 24, 2005

I love MDE.
Who are you "I Hate MDE?"
'i hate mde' is obviously that fat lesbian Eva Young.
That was not only uncalled for, it was also tacky.
You know... hypothetically, if you wanted to get rid of the source of stupidity and bigotry in this world all one would have to do is abort everyone like you.
Sean
Eva Young isn't denying she is "I Hate MDE" therefore she must be "I Hate MDE," going by the logic of the so-called exposers.

All I see is a bunch of squirming punks using the anonymity of the internet to say things that they don't have the guts to say to a mans face.
And that goes for double for you stpaul_dink.
You all think you can hide..but think again. Every time anyone leaves a message here, they leave their fingerprints; it is child's play for the site owner to track you down.
MDE I don't know what these idiots have been spewing in here, but take my word for it..behind those keyboards are nothing but scared little men.
I've fielded threats myself more than once, and in *every* instance I can report the extreme satisfaction that accompanied the witnessing of pure, pants-pissing terror take place when I granted them a up-close and personal visit.
You've got nothing to worry about, trust me.
In the mean time, just use the blogger administrator to start banning a few choice IP's.
Hey you guys this was supposed to be Hatch's day, you really know how to ruin all the fun.
Hey you guys this was supposed to be Hatch's day, you really know how to ruin all the fun.
Maybe Hatch is MDE.
This is easy.
First I agree that it is the lowest of the low to post Micheal's information, personal info that is. Doesn't matter if he is MDE or not. I would say the same if it was Karl Rove. It's a chicken-shit, old south, racial discrimination move tht makes me sick.
Second, Swiftless, name the place and I'll check back here and noon, be there at 1:30pm with my camera, kick the shit out of you if you say that crap to my face and then post photos here for all to enjoy tough guy. Actually I would love that, been wanting to for a couple of years now.
So, who's hiding behind the keyboard now Tommie?
See ya at 1:30pm (its my day off so no delaying until tomorrow), bring a friend.
Oh, Swiftless, leave the piece at home. I know you're one of the tough guys that needed conceal and carry to complete your persona.
See ya later.
Yo... can I come?
Sean
It appears that I will be there alone- no response.
Now back to the task at hand, who said Hatch will abide? It appears that he said he is considering it. Clearly by the Republican reaction he is their biggest threat. Makes me want to send him a 100 bucks right now.
RE: Mike Hatch and running on his own in the primary (s)
While I think that the Minnesota caucus endorsement process is important to a political party and its right to pick its own candidate, anyone can legally run in the Minnesota primary (according to the state's constitution, last I read).
Mike Hatch has the drive, apparently, and believes he has the talent and ability to handle the office of the governor. So, hey, it's a free country.
While many people, especially Minnesota Democrats, think that it was not "Minnesota nice" for Hatch to run in the 1994 primary after the endorsement process was over, or go up against an incumbent in 1990, if you attend the conventions following the caucuses ( as I have ) you quickly find out that they are run by people who manipulate the rules, love the game, and have their own agenda(s). The 2004 state precinct caucuses had a phenomenal turnout, which was exciting, but that's where "democracy" ends. The next step at the district convention is all party people, people with their special interests, who dominate the committees and who go on to the state convention level. I won't be back. One can understand why Hatch decided to go up against the endorsed candidate in 1994, John Marty, and rightly so, distinguishing himself as a Democratic moderate. I may add he almost beat Marty in the primary.
Hence, his recent statement that "depending on voter turnout" will he abide by the caucuses in spring 2006 and not run in the primary. However, he has been courting party regulars and delegates in the recent past.
My personal view on Hatch: his heart is in the right place. You may not like him, he may seem like a scrappy s.o.b. , but if you listen to one of his speeches he knows more about what government should be doing for the public, than what kind of favors government is continually doling out to the biggest donors.
Umm sorry my Mpls friend.
Hatch can't cry the insider game thing. I too have been around for a while. The endorsement is not some Minnesota Nice thing, its the political thing to do. Either court the endorsement, or not. Doran knows he hasn't been around or active and is unfamaliar to the party people, so he runs for the primary. Hatch doesn't have that excuse. You glaze over his background. In 1990 he ran against the last DFL governor. Hatch was the Commerce Commissioner at the time- appointed by the very guy he challenged! Crying about party games is not valid because Hatch was the state party CHAIRMAN before that. Most of these longtime, game playing delegates are his people. For his ambition throughout the 90's he ran against the endorsement three times- twice for governor and once for AG. He has yet to get the delegates support sine they elected him chairman.
With the endorsement comes the party apparatus all the way to the DNC including high visibility fundraisers, access to the best consultants and etc. If he doesn't need this and thinks that he can take on Doran without it- good luck.
On the other hand, Hatch has got the Righties running for cover. YOu gotta love that. He may be an S.O.B., but he's our S.O.B., even when he doesn't need our stamp of approval.
Oh- yeah, he also fired all of Skip Humphrey's non-lawyer employees in the AG office when he got there. Damn near every last one of them are party activist, I doubt if they will forget and forgive if there is an alternative.
It would be like if the GOP kicked out all of the politcal hacks in Auditor and SecState Offices. There would be nobody left.
Heh, I've been out of town but I love welcome home surprises.
