DORAN'S AD BUY TO FOCUS ON CABLE
The latest word on the rumored $500,000 Kelly Doran for Governor ad buy is that it will be focused largely on cable TV. Cable rates are a fraction the cost of network TV spots (because cable continues to be fragmented and delivers a fraction of the viewers), but that means the number of ads in the buy will be enormous.
We've also learned that the ad buy will last approximately three weeks.
It will be interesting to see how Doran segments out the buy. Will he go for sports fans on ESPN? Women watching Lifetime? Seniors checking out the Weather Channel? Doran's camp could also choose certain suburban and Greater Minnesota markets with much greater precision than they could do on network TV.
I can hardly wait to watch these Democrats climbing all over one another. Looks like a fun week coming up.
