MDE EXCLUSIVE: POLITICAL GADFLY JOHN WODELE UP FOR A NEW JOB?
Minnesota Democrats Exposed has learned that word on the street (that street being Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.) is that political gadfly and failed short-term talk radio host John Wodele is under consideration to become the new Chief of Staff for Senate Majority Leader Dean Johnson and the Senate DFL caucus.
The buzz on the hill is that Wodele might be bringing his spinmeister skills to the State Capitol to fill the shoes left behind by former Roger Moe top aide Vic Moore. Since Moore left, no one has been able to do the role justice. The most recent occupant was Cristine Almeida, who recently left to become senior director of state government affairs for Express Scripts, Inc. (sounds like one of those nasty corporations that most DFLers love to
hate)
The temporary replacement for Almeida has been Senate DFL communications director John Pollard, although it sounds like Senator Johnson might be looking elsewhere for a permanent replacement.
Would Wodele leave the big bucks gubernatorial campaign of Kelly Doran behind to work at the State Capitol? Or might he work out a way to get paid as a consultant on the side (maybe for both Doran and El Tinklenberg) while he jumps back onto the taxpayer dole?
Another thought -- are the rats already jumping off of the Doran ship, just weeks after he moved into the goober race? I have seen little or no coverage of the Doran effort since the day he announced he wanted to buy the Governor's office. Maybe Wodele's being shown the door for his sub-par effort?
Only time will tell....

Or maybe he's figured out that Doran has no traction and isn't likely to get any.
Doran's a nice guy and successful developer. He does great work. How that translates into "vote me into the Governors office" isn't a message they've yet been able to communicate (effectively or otherwise).
What about Doran's straight forward no nonsense approach to the issues at hand?
What am I doing! Us lib's are supposed to hate big business.
Demrock6:
Doran is a Corporate Democrat, not a liberal or a conservative Democrat. He's a Republican who knows he can't beat Pawlenty or Kennedy for their respective nominations.
Check out my view here.
No, Doran is a political novice who brings new ideas to the table. DFL Gov. shouldn't really comment because he is extremely bias and closed minded anyway about Doran, although I do enjoy your comments on other people. What makes you say he is a Republican, that he has connections in big business (God forbid!) so therefore he is a bad person? Can one not have succeeded personally and then want to make a difference publicly?
I can tell you with 99.99% certainty that Wodele is not leaving the campaign. Sorry, this is one rumor that won't come true.
