SOMETHING FROM THE RUMOR MILL #2
One of my great sources sent me this email last week, but instructed me to wait until today to post the information.

MDE,
Thank you, I like your site. Here's some general info I've heard lately.
Like I said, nothing remarkable, but it may jive with some other things you know.
1. Hatch is now widely expected to announce his candidacy for governor on Oct. 24. This is the worst kept secret in Minnesota politics.
2. Even though her official Senate campaign is in its infancy, the Hatch and Doran camps have already made contacts with Patty Wetterling about a possible lieutenant governor role. No word on her interest level.
3. Entenza is expected to announce his AG campaign shortly after Hatch's announcement, but he does not by any means have the DFL nomination secure. Hatch's deputy and Ember Young (KSTP At Issue) are expected to give him a serious challenge.
4. Rep. Joe Atkins is already telling people he has the votes to be House Speaker should the DFL regain control of the House and Entenza be out by way of his run for AG. I do not know if this also means he would be in line for minority leader.
##
#4 was mentioned in yesterday's Pioneer Press:
"Three Democratic-Farmer-Labor state representatives - Joe Atkins of Inver Grove Heights, Margaret Anderson Kelliher of Minneapolis and Loren Solberg of Grand Rapids - are beginning to quietly campaign for the job of House minority leader now held by Rep. Matt Entenza of St. Paul." Source: Pioneer Press, October 20, 2005

#1 was confirmed before his email was sent, but I would like to know what you think about #2-4.
