MDE BREAKING NEWS: KELLEY FOR GOVERNOR USING TAXPAYER RESOURCES FOR CAMPAIGN

Earlier today, I received an official Steve Kelley for Governor press release from one of my numerous DFL sources. I reviewed the document properties of the attached Word file and discovered the press release was prepared with a copy of Word from the Minnesota Senate.
In the past few months I have posted numerous examples of DFLers using taxpayer resources for campaign purposes, but this is by far my favorate.
Steve Kelley, a DFL State Senator and candidate for governor, likes to portray himself as a technology wizard, a true junkie of computer gadgets. I thinks it's hilarious that a simple computer search catches his campaign using taxpayer resources for campaign purposes.
Last year DFL State Senator John Hottinger filed an ethics complaint against a Republican Senator for using a state computer to send out an campaign email.
Hottinger was quoted by the Associated Press as saying: "The strict separation of campaigning from our responsibilities of governing must be upheld in order to keep the public's trust."
An ethics complaint should be filed against Senator Kelley and this matter should be investigated with the same force and determination exhibited last year in the investigation of the Republican senator.

Well, Trillin and DFL GOvernor will probably need talking off of the ledge.
I don't care. He's not much of a factor in the Gov race anyway. Hopefully he'll do the right thing.
After the ruling comes down on this- I'm ever confident that Tim Pawlenty will still hold the record for the highest fined paid for campaign cheating.

Uh, no I believe that honor belongs to the House DFL campaign field staff...er, I mean, 21st Century Democrats, when they received that $600,000 whopper last year.
These people need to get some serious designers for their logos. This would be among the worst ever, if not for Hatch's.
It was 300,000 dollars for the 21st Century Democrats of Washingon DC. Yes they were fined for their work here, but their organization and people are not Minnesota based. If it was the House DFL Caucus or Matt Entenza then you would have something.
Pawlenty's total fine came to about $800,000. Call the CFB yourself. He is the champion.
His fine was so large that it forced them to scale back on the inaugral party and accept a loan from no other than the very generous and law-abiding Mike Hatch.

Isn't that the law enforcement official who admitted in court to stealing his own friends thank you card? Is that the "law abiding" guy to whom you refer?
