PROTEST PLANNED FOR "THE MOST HATED POLITICAL FIGURE ON THE PLANET"
I just received this email from one of my numerous DFL sources. The Democrats in Minnesota want to make sure this protest is comparable in size to the protests President Bush received in foreign cities like Moscow.

*** Protest Bush in Minneapolis! ***
BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!
MILITARY RECRUITERS OUT OF OUR SCHOOLS!
Friday, December 9th
11 AM - 12:30 PM
Hilton Hotel, 1001 Marquette Ave. S., Mpls

On Friday, December 9th George W. Bush will descend on Minneapolis for a $1,000 a plate fund raising dinner for Mark Kennedy, the Republican Congressman now running for Senate. From Korea to Argentina, from London to Moscow, wherever George Bush goes he is met with mass protests. We need to make sure the Twin Cities keeps doesn't let the rest of the world down! The "leader of the free world" has become the most hated political figure on the planet for good reason. From the war in Iraq to Bush's attempt to expand U.S. economic imperialism, from his deep cuts of social programs for the poor to his nomination of Alito to the Supreme Court, this president is on a warpath against working people.
On December 9th, the people of the Twin Cities needs to clearly show that Bush is not welcome in our town!
* End the war in Iraq!
* Money for jobs and education, not war!
* Military recruiters out of our schools!
* NO to racism and attacks on civil liberties!
WALKOUT OF CLASS???
*** At the November 29th metro-wide meeting of Youth Against War and Racism, we agreed to endorse this protest and urge students to walk out of class to attend this Friday protest against Bush. Unlike the November 2nd, YAWR does not have time and capacity to fully mobilize for a mass walkout or to organize the defense of students who might face repression and punishment for walking out of school. However, YAWR supports and encourages every student who feels it is important to voice their opposition to Bush to be able to do so. See you there!

Why not? The man has hurt my country more than Russia, after all.
"THE MOST HATED POLITICAL FIGURE ON THE PLANET" ? Who knew Gov. Bob Taft was coming to Minneapolis?
Will Becky Lourey be speaking?
Thanks for this news, MDE. Have you got any news on pro-W rallies that same day?
Have you got any news on pro-W rallies that same day?
Don't most people who support Bush have jobs, lives, families, hobbies, things to do that are more important than wasting their time holding signs on a cold street corner that will have absolutely no impact on the issue?
Just curious.
Actually most of the people that support Bush right now are under indictment or meeting with their lawyer.
WALKOUT OF CLASS???
*** At the November 29th metro-wide meeting of Youth Against War and Racism, all six of us agreed to endorse this protest and urge students to walk out of class to attend this Friday protest against Bush.
We are determined to see to it that as many of the Twin Cities public school kids end up without diplomas as possible.
That way, they can join us as full time morons since they will, like us, be unemployable.
Unlike the November 2nd, YAWR does not have enough beer and dope to fully mobilize for a mass walkout, and since every school principal laughed us out of their offices, we are unable to organize the defense of students who might face repression and punishment for walking out of school.
However, YAWR supports and encourages every student who feels it is important to chuck their futures in favor of a life on the streets to be able to do so.
See you there!
"the most hated political figure on the planet." Hated by YAWR. That means the members of YAWR reserve more contempt for Bush than for Kim Jong Il, or Syrian president Assad. What a bunch of Einsteins these whack jobs are. I also still love the acronym YAWR. Sounds like the sound a recently castrated kitten would make if it were to get agitated by something. Yawr!
To John Jordan;
Yes, you're right. Most Republicans do have more imporortant things to do. But I'm on disability right now and would love to participate in a pro-W rally.
You're wrong about the value of these demonstrations. The tv news teams will be pointing their cameras at the demos. Also, there are many hot Republican babes who are at these rallies. ;)
