Ms. Clark is undoubtedly too busy campaigning for her win on the 27th. Why do you believe that she needs to accept an invitation from a conservative program? Would you also write a post on Rep. Kennedy's or Pres. Bush's refusal to be interviewed by the student behind North Star Politics?
"Race to the right" has such lousy ratings that not even podcasters will take time to be interviewed on it. Why would a campaign even waste their time on it. BTW have you seen what the program director of that radio station is trying to get away with in his campaign literature? Fake photos of his supporters!
Just for the record, we have been very fair to all of the canidates, Left & Right, that have come on our show. Every local public figure attacked has been given opportunity to refute.
Our philosophy regarding having candidates on our show is to let the people hear what they have to say. Period.
Why should she accept the invitation? Because we are a St Cloud station and she is running in a St Cloud race.
We made the offer to her and gave her first choice of which show to appear on. Ochsner would have been left with the remainder show. It was not a confrontation set-up and listening to the archives would show that. Scott Mortensen I think would say we were very good to him. Coleen Rowley was treated well the first time (and we crossed signals the second time).
Candidates can dig their own graves or build their own pedestal when we invite them on. (Commentators are a different story.) We also warn candidates if we are planning to be aggressive...and for refusing those appearances we say nothing publicly.
Just thought I should clarify the significance of Tarryl's refusal.
