DAYTON: IRAQI CHILDREN WILL SEEK REVENGE
"You look at these pictures of Iraqi children, eight, ten years old, standing on the rubble of their homes, and their brothers and sisters and mothers. ... And you just think that sense of revenge is going to be something we're going to have to live with for the next 10, 20 years or more." Source: Star Tribune, January 1, 2006
Mark Dayton is an embarrassment and a coward.
Only an out-of-touch liberal like Mark Dayton would think Iraqi children will seek revenge against the coalition forces who liberated their country.

Can't you just picture him saying that after the liberation of Nazi Germany?
Only an out of touch liberal who views our country as evil and who wants us to lose the war on terror could possibly agree with his statement.
What an embarrassment to Minnesotan and all Americans.
Granted I am much more willing to criticize Democrats than Republicans. But Senator Dayton is a pathetically ignorant man.
At this point, I would willing to accept his resignation and have the Governor appoint Klobuchar. That is how embarrassed I am of Dayton. I disagreed with Wellstone, but he was principled and well informed. Dayton is neither. Thank goodness we will be gone with him in November.
Mr. Dayton's comments speak for very few of Minnesota's 5 million citizens.
I can't help but think what a Minnesota National Guard soldier, spending the holidays away from his family in Iraq, is thinking when he reads Dayton's comments. Pathetic.

Given Daytons level of ignorance, I'd almost go along with that. Maybe Wetterling instead.

Absolutely. There was very little Wellstone stood for that I could agree with, but he was a man of principle. He was a very genuine guy. I met with him in his temporary office in December 2001 after the Hart building had been hit with anthrax. What a nice guy. A guy I could have hung out with on a personal level.

Yeah, just like Dick CHeney said, we'll be treated as liberators. That would be historic if it wasn't for the fact that the insurgents are 95% Iraqis, killing my military members.
We were able to stay in Germany for decades and dismantled the majority of the German military so that they woudl not be a threat to their neighbors. The American Military is their defense in a sense- same goes for Japan. German and Japan are secular states, we got rid of the secular tyrant and it appears a more religeous restrictive government is in place. That has never been good for America. Dayton has been to Iraq a few times, and has access to information none of you have. To call him names without trying to see a real point- is just ignorant.
If its going to be an issue in the future, we can prepare for it and stall it off. If you are going to ignore it, then we'll right back over there trying to topple the government we set up. It won't bethe first time.
I know I'm speaking to a bunch of non-serving Chicken Hawks, but what Dayton said is in line to what evidence we are seeing today.
