HATCH DIDN'T DO IT ALL FOR FREE
Something in the email caught my eye:
"Later, as a seasoned attorney in private law practice, Mike [Hatch] represented for free dozens of women with breast cancer whose HMOs refused to pay for their lifesaving cancer treatment." Source: Hatch for Governor campaign email, January 2, 2006
But according to a newspaper story from over 11-years ago, Hatch did receive payment for representing the women:
"But since 1992, he's been feeding his soul with this righteous cause on behalf of women with breast cancer. For a minuscule fee - and sometimes no fee at all - Hatch has helped more than 20 women get treatment that they otherwise likely wouldn't have received." Source: Star Tribune, October 16, 1994
Anyone who helps women suffering from breast cancer deserves gratitude and I don't think people wouldn't criticize Hatch for being paid to represent these women.

Patti Hatch doesn't say he represented every woman in the world for free, she claims that he represented some women for free. There is no contradiction between her statement and the Star Tribune's story. The important point is not the one you highlighted - it's "and sometimes no fee at all".
