INTERESTING STAFF DEVELOPMENTS ON LOUREY'S CAMPAIGN
I am surprised Lourey was able to hire this many staff members. The fight for the DFL endorsement is going to be nasty. I can't wait.

Mayoral candidate joins Lourey campaign
Elizabeth Dickinson, the Green Party candidate for mayor of St. Paul last year, is joining the campaign of state Sen. Becky Lourey for the DFL gubernatorial nomination.
Dickinson got 19 percent of the vote in September's mayoral primary election, not enough to advance to the general election won by former City Council Member Chris Coleman over Mayor Randy Kelly. Dickinson, 45, has been co-chair of the St. Paul Green Party, a board member of Clean Water Action and a lobbyist for the Minnesota AIDS Project.
She will be field director for the Lourey campaign, one of five members of "a blue-chip staff of dedicated professionals who bring a diverse range of talents to this effort," Lourey said in a news release Monday.
Lourey, a 15-year veteran of the Legislature from Kerrick, unsuccessfully sought DFL endorsement for governor in 2002 and is opposed this year by Attorney General Mike Hatch, state Sen. Steve Kelley of Hopkins, real estate developer Kelly Doran and frequent candidate Ole Savior.
Other appointments announced Monday by Lourey:
•Joseph Barisonzi, chief executive officer of Strategic Growth Initiatives, as campaign manager.
•John Blackshaw, chief executive officer of Williams Blackshaw Group and manager of Paul Wellstone's victorious 1990 campaign for the U.S. Senate and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak's reelection drive last year, as strategist and consultant.
•Aileen Seoane, grants administrator for the Latino Economic Development Center, as fundraising director.
•Eric Mitchell, former state DFL director of outreach, as political director. Source: Star Tribune, January 3, 2006
