MDE FROM THE ARCHIVES: COLEMAN CONSIDERS KISCADEN AS '98 RUNNING MATE
Kiscaden mentioned for ticket
Lt. Gov. Sheila Kiscaden?
Kiscaden, the Republican senator from Rochester, received some initial inquiries last weekend from intermediaries for St. Paul Mayor Norm Coleman, who's running for the Republican nomination for governor.
"They were questions that I would take as initial feelers to see if I'm interested," Kiscaden said. "If I said yes, then there would probably be more people who would come with more questions."
Kiscaden is being considered by other campaigns, too, sources have said. But at this point candidates are still working on their long lists of potential running mates, trying to get a good collection of people who might be interested.
The two-term senator said she's flattered by the interest.
"But I think at this time in my life with my children where they are at in school, it wouldn't be a good time," Kiscaden said. Source: Rochester Post-Bulletin, April 4, 1998
