MDE FROM THE ARCHIVES: KISCADEN ATTACKS DFL FOR TAXING "THE SICK, THE POOR AND THE ELDERLY"

"The irony of the situation is that this tax has been kept in place by Democrats -- the party that claims to champion the underprivileged, the downtrodden, the needy. For seven years I've offered legislation repealing the sick tax, yet it has routinely been stifled by the DFL Senate majority. This tragic tax policy is plaguing the sick, the poor and the elderly. How can Democrats continue to ignore that fact -- how can they justify retaining it? I'm calling for an end to their stall tactics. I'm tired of hearing 'we'll deal with it next session", I'm tired of telling Minnesota families that they'll have to face this unfair burden for another year. We still have time, right now, this session, to repeal the sick tax."
