BREAKING NEWS: MARKO FOR CONGRESS
"Meanwhile, in the race for Minnesota's Second Congressional District, veteran state Sen. Sharon Marko will declare her candidacy today to challenge former FBI agent Coleen Rowley for the Democratic endorsement, according to Marko's friend, Rep. Betty McCollum, D-Minn.
Rowley, who gained fame as a whistleblower after the Sept. 11 attacks, had to apologize Monday to the man she seeks to oust, Republican Rep. John Kline, for a campaign website photo likening him to bumbling Nazi "Col. Klink" in the old "Hogan's Heroes" television sitcom. McCollum, criticizing a fellow Democrat, said the stunt by a young campaign volunteer "was very unprofessional" and "personally offended" her." Source: Star Tribune, February 1, 2006
