DO WE LIVE IN RUSSIA?
"Freedom of speech has its limitations on this, and that that is one of them, that is you cannot just say whatever you think." 1st Congressional District DFL Candidate Tim Walz on Progress For America's ad supporting the work the troops are doing in Iraq. "[O]n this" as in political advertising. Shocking.
When what you have to say is the truth that doesn't find a voice in the mainstream media, what does that say about Tim Walz? The New Gestapo is apparently the Democratic Party in Minnesota!
Actually, active military are limited in speech. Certain speech can put them in order for a court martial or discharge or prison.
Tim Walz being one who has served half of his life in the military would know this. Arm chair faux patriots would not.
So, to MDE, its not Russia, but there are certain rules that are set up for certain reasons of order that our military must follow. We are Russia in the sense that anyone who publicly criticizes this Administration may find their travel limited, phones tapped and ass in jail without access to lawyer or jury.
Gotcha Big Guy!
..."active military are limited in speech"...
Where is the "active military" you referred to in your above comment?
You got Nothing Big Guy. Care to try again to excuse your hero's attempts to muzzle free speech? Tim Walz needs some better ddefenders tha this!
It is about time that someone speaks of our soldiers good deeds. I applaud Families United Ad. It allows the public the see that which the mainstream media fails to report on.
Free Speech is the hallmark of our Country and these men have right to say how they feel about their mission in the military. If you haven't seen the spot, you really should - all Americans need to be reminded of the troop's support for the War in Iraq and for finishing the job we started there. After putting their lives at risk for us, they deserve to have their voice heard (free speech and all!).

You probably just didn't have room to list all of the people who have criticized this admin and ended up muzzled and in jail, right?
Bozo.
Above all, the organization seeks to support the efforts of the men and women in uniform who are fighting to make America safer by winning the War on Terror. We recognize that those serving on the front lines of the War on Terror are modern day heroes and it is our goal to ensure that the sacrifices made by them are neither forgotten nor trivialized. We work to promote their accomplishments in any way we can.
These soldiers are speaking their mind and speaking from the heart. I am not a part of the Armed Services but I do have a number of loved ones who are. In conversations with them it is apparent that they are dedicated to their mission. It is essential that we support them because without the support they lose motivation - that is good for no one. A lot of really positive activites are occuring in Iraq that prove progress. It is rare to see that type of message televised. American people need to hear about the progress we have made but more importantly, our troops need to hear accurate reporting when they tune in to the live news feeds. Thank you PFA for giving us something to hope for... an accurate message that doesn't have to be paid for. This is a much needed start to getting that message out.
I am thankful to PFA for donating its limited resources to helping tell the stories most Americans never hear.
There are thousands upon thousands of Iraqis who are grateful for the progress we're helping them make everyday. Whether its opening a new school or providing clean, running water, our men and women in uniform deserve our nation's gratitude. By showing the people of Iraq that there's a better way to live and govern than the Saddam/Al Qaeda terror rule, we're ensuring a new, free and peaceful Iraq.
