The Use of Fear to Control
So what do you think about the Bush Administration using fear and paranoia over 9/11 to attempt to force its will upon Americans? We know President Bush lied about our reasons to go to war in Iraq. He lied to America. He lied to World. At the very least, the used Presidental power to mislead Americans. Joseph Goebbels Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945, said “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus become vitally important for the State to use all its powers to repress dissent; for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie – and thus by extension – the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Is the whole issue of the real danger from terrorism an over-blown lie? If terrorism is a serious threat, then why, four-years-after-9/11, why is the Mexican border open for any terrorist to cross? Why are containers coming by ship and traveling by train across the United States not searched? Why is it more important to spy on American citizens than to secure the nation's borders?
Dictator's past and present, use fear and paranoia to obtain power, power that they would not be granted in normal circumstances. One such CONSERVATIVE government was Nazi Germany. Yes, those were not liberal folks, they were conservatives.

Did the blogger ask individual nazis for their political leanings or is that liberal/conservative comparison just a result of stupidity?
Let's put aside the grammar issue for a moment - I'm not sure that post technically compares today's Republican leadership with the Nazis of the 1930s and 1940s. Note that the only things that can be argued in that post are concerned with whether or not President Bush lied about the rationale behind going to war in Iraq - and even this issue has a spectrum of opinion behind it. The poster's questions at the end of the first paragraph are valid ones, and they are absolutely correct in their assessment of the Nazi regime as a super-conservative ruling party.
But I'm certain you've pumped up that site's hit counter.....raise your hand if you've ever seen or heard of that blog before today......--(crickets)-- Might have to keep track of it now :)

While the blogger does make a subtle comparison of the "Bush Administration" to the "CONSERVATIVE government was Nazi Germany". I think that stating "LOCAL DEMOCRATIC BLOG LIKENS BUSH TO HITLER" is a bit of a stretch, as that is not what it says at all.
I think that the Goebbels quote does draw a parallel to the Bush Administration. It is a tactic that they use quite a bit. But that is nothing new. Corporate America has been doing this for many years.

Yah, just because a direct transtation of a political party of a German past has the word socialist in it does't even make any sort of connection to the "left" of the American society. Are you nuts?

That's what the party was named but it’s fair to call Hitler a right wing extremist. However making comparisons between Bush and Nazis is like comparing Democrats to Communists, certainly not very fair.
