AAA at Residual Forces been leading the patriotic charge in defense of the "Midwest Heroes" ad. The Democrats are so incensed at this ad and Residual Forces, they are now attacking a true American hero, Joe Repya.

And that liar pretends there are not a TON of Iraq war veterans who dispute his claims that we are 'winning.' And what Repya, the liar, also fails to mention is that in the evry same military time spoll he cites:
'Support for President Bush and for the war in Iraq has slipped significantly in the last year among members of the military's professional core, according to the 2005 Military Times Poll.
Approval of the presidentÂs Iraq policy fell 9 percentage points from 2004; a bare majority, 54 percent, now say they view his performance on Iraq as favorable.'
So, support in the MILITARY for the Iraq wr is dropping precipitously. It's only a matter of time before a majority disapprove of the war."

How is that a patriotic charge? How is a campaign to stop an organization that is out there supporting troops and trying to rally even more support a patriotic charge? The Midwest Heros and the troops they support are doing great work.
The reason for the low poll numbers is because the media is only telling one side of the story. They are only showing the terrorist victories in Iraq. They are not showing the Iraqi victories. They are not showing schools opening, people voting, unprecidented rights now given, etc.

How is that a patriotic charge? How is a campaign to stop an organization that is out there supporting troops and trying to rally even more support a patriotic charge? The Midwest Heros and the troops they support are doing great work.

What a disgraceful position - urging people to not support our troops. They may say it's the war but these men and women believe in what they are doing and need our support in every possible way. Further, we have helped bring democracy to Iraq and peace to people who have lived in fear for years. Democracy abroad is necessary for our security at home and I appreciate the work these men and women are doing in the Middle East. It's sad when Americans are attempting to destroy the morale of our troops by these types of comments...

These are pretty harsh words - and not very accurate ones either. I have yet to meet a soldier who feels we are not making progress in Iraq. Need Proof?
-In January, Iraqi Security Forces Planned and executed 27 Percent of the total operations across Iraq
-The number of Iraqi Border Police now Stands at 18,000
-Iraqi citizens are actively engaging in efforts to turn against the Insurgents by giving tips to security forces on where and who they are.
-More than 5/4 million Iraqis are now subscribed to a cell phone carrier
-2,500 schools have been renovated or repaired and USAID is training 100,000 primary and secondary school teachers.
Looks like progress to me...looks like we're "winning" the fight to ensure a free Iraqi nation and improve living conditions
Alise, Those examples really do prove that we are making progress in Iraq. I am amazed to see some of those numbers. These really are not being reporting in the mass media. You do not realize the wide range of progress our troops until you see that 2,500 schools have been repaired since Saddam was removed. This is very impressive.
