YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST: WETTERLING TO RUN FOR CONGRESS
I have been getting attacked for months because I posting a rumor that Patty Wetterling would end her campaign for the U.S. Senate and run again for Congress in the 6th Congressional District.
My unimpeachable source's information may have been early, but they were correct:
"I'm sure this will come as no surprise, but according to one of my real DFL insider friends, Patty Wetterling has all but announced that she'll be running for the 6th CD again because Klobuchar has proven to be much stronger than expected."
Below are some of the posts that I wrote about Wetterling's potential candidacy in the 6th Congressional District:
EMILY'S LIST URGING WETTERLING TO RUN AGAIN IN THE 6TH
"[Patty] Wetterling's campaign manager, Carol Butler, said the [Emily's List] women's PAC had been 'very vocal' in urging Wetterling to run again in the Sixth District, where the seat is open because Kennedy is running for the Senate. Source: Star Tribune, September 30, 2005
WETTERLING TO ANNOUNCE SENATE CAMPAIGN, BUT HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
1. While Wetterling will formally announce her candidacy for the U.S. Senate on October 9, it's clear both Republicans and Democrats think she may switch races.
2. This post can't be ruled out.
3. The DFL leadership does not support Wetterling's campaign for the U.S. Senate.
4. Klobuchar will be the DFL endorsed candidate for the U.S. Senate.
