DFL CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR "WHIPPED HIS SON"
"A Brook Park, Minn., dairy farmer said Tuesday that he will continue his dark-horse DFL run for governor despite his 1995 conviction for malicious punishment of his 12-year-old son, for which he served 60 days in jail.
Russ Koch, 48, said at a State Capitol news conference that his criminal record will help rather than hurt his campaign because 'I can admit my mistakes and move on.'
According to Kanabec County District Court documents, on Dec. 1, 1994, Koch repeatedly whipped his son with a strap, 'leaving many observable bruises and welts and partial cuts,' then forced him to connect a live electrical fence 'with disregard to the shock he was getting.' He allegedly was angry over the boy's efforts to herd some runaway cattle." Source: Star Tribune, February 28, 2006

I think most DFLers accept him as much as most GOPers accept David Duke as a voice or face of their party. That much should be stated.
Maybe he could be Lt. Gov. to Ole
