Forgiveness doesn't mean a lack of consequences. We can forgive a criminal for robbing a bank but it doesn't mean he's not doing time.
Johnson lied, and lied, and lied. Over and over again, stretching it every time. He made things up, he didn't just exagerate. There is a price for such behavior.
Should he be forgiven? Sure, absolutely - after he truly comes clean and admits that he didn't just "sand off the truth" but made it up and defended doing so. Forgiveness comes with full confession, not continued deceit.
With all due respect, Mr. Jordan, I think your claim that Senator Johnson will be forgiven (presumably by his Republican colleagues and their supporters) is disingenuous at best. I would guess that, if Johnson were to make what you would consider a full disclosure on the issue, the GOP, MDE, and no doubt you would howl bloody murder at the lying and deceit he's now "been caught" in.
He has no reason to respond any further to any slime you throw his way. The ethics complaint has been filed, the Senate will deal with it. It's deplorable that this is the only story the right wing can latch on to when so many more-important things are going on in the legislature.
