Checks and Balances is reporting the departure of Kelly Doran from the DFL governor's race. The Pioneer Press has picked-up the story:

"Doran, Kiscaden to end campaign
Kelly Doran, a shopping center developer who ran for the U.S. Senate and then joined the campaign for the Democratic nomination for Minnesota governor, is about to drop out of that race, a source close to his campaign said Thursday night.
Another source, a longtime political operative also close to the Doran campaign, said three people involved in the campaign told him Doran planned to withdraw from the gubernatorial race. Both sources asked not to be identified because Doran had not announced his decision publicly. He was expected to make the announcement." Source: Pioneer Press, March 24, 2006.
