JOHNSON APOLOGIZES FOR COMMENTS
I had received a tip that Johnson was having a press conference. This is the first article about the event.
His apology should not prevent Republicans from filing an ethics complaint.

Senate Majority Leader apologizes for comments about court
Senate Majority Leader Dean Johnson says he embellished when he said Supreme Court justices told him they wouldn't overturn the state's marriage law, and he's sorry.
At a news conference in his office this morning, Johnson apologized to the Supreme Court, the Senate, the media and the public.
Johnson was recorded in January telling a group of pastors that Supreme Court justices had told him the high court would not overturn a state law defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
Today, he said he went too far with the statement, and he was reacting out of frustration during a difficult conversation. The meeting was taped without his knowledge. Source: Associated Press, March 17, 2006
