MN GOP: IT’S TIME FOR "CRYSTAL CLEAR" KLOBUCHAR TO MAKE KNOWN HER POSITION ON FEINGOLD’S CENSURE RESOLUTION
"I was pleasantly surprised to see Senator Dayton repudiate Russ Feingold's censure resolution of President Bush as 'premature' and 'over-reaching.'
"I was also heartened to see Amy Klobuchar's campaign promise that she will be 'crystal clear' on issues during this campaign. Given Amy Klobuchar's newfound willingness to discuss the issues openly, I await her response to the Feingold censure resolution."
- Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Ron Carey
Dayton Opposes Senator Russell Feingold’s Censure Resolution:
Senator Mark Dayton Rejects Feingold's Censure Resolution. "Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, who has supported Bush on defense and security issues, called Feingold's resolution 'a very unusual measure.' 'Frankly, I'd prefer to spend our time figuring out ways to bring this very important program of surveillance of potential terrorists here in the United States under the law,' Lieberman said March 13. Senator Mark Dayton, a Minnesota Democrat, was more direct. The resolution, he said yesterday, is ‘premature, and over-reaching, which often involves losing more than gaining.'" Klobuchar Campaign Promises to be "Crystal Clear" on Issues:
Campaign Manager Calls Klobuchar "Crystal Clear On The Issues," Promises Klobuchar "Will Continue To Be So." "A bit of a ruckus has been kicked up over whether U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton has actually endorsed DFL Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar for his Senate seat, and why, if he has, she hasn't acknowledged it. … Ben Goldfarb, her campaign manager, said she 'has been crystal clear on the issues and will continue to be so ... and we look forward to having Senator Dayton's formal endorsement.'"
