I sent the below email to David Ruth. I'll post his response.

Subject: QUESTIONS
David:
Based on a post your wrote on www.dflers.org, the lack of a privacy policy on the beta version of a CD released to the media would allow the Republican Party of Minnesota to distribute information.
"According to MPR, no privacy policy was included with the CD. This means they could distribute any information they collect from the CD to your boss, members of your church, or anyone else that they want."
1. The DFL has no privacy policy on their website. If I sign-up as a volunteer on your website, does the DFL share my personal information with any other entity? (endorsed candidate, vendor, other organization)
##
In this same post you raised concerns about the use of a outside contractor to maintain the database.
"Also, the database maintained by the outside contractor is web-based"
2. Does the Minnesota DFL use an outside contractor to maintain their database?
##
Finally, in this same post you raised concerns about the questions asked on the CD.
"Usually, polls like this have an anonymity feature that allow statistical totals to be released without compromising the rights of those polled."
3. Why then does the poll on www.democratslisten.com, which is prepared and paid for by the Minnesota DFL, ask you for your name and contact information?
##
I appreciate you taking the time to answers my questions and I look forward to your response.
All the best,
Michael
