THEIR SILENCE IS DEAFENING
I realized I wasn't being fair by posting just about Bob Collins at Polinaut for not reporting about Senate Majority Leader Dean Johnson undermining the credibility of the Minnesota Supreme Court when other prominent blogs I read were also silent.
"It is a very, VERY slow Wednesday out there." Source: Backbone Minnesota
"'Tis indeed a slow Wednesday, though." Source: Minnesota Campaign Report
Checks & Balances, which claims to be "the premiere online political magazine in Minnesota", had nothing to report today on Senator Johnson's snafu. Checks & Balances also claims to provide "rapid access to information about issues as they develop in the legislature." For some reason the information wasn't very accessible or speedy today.
To be fair, Dean Johnson does appear on Checks & Balances; He's quoted complimenting the website.

I've commented on this at Lloydletta's Nooz.
I'm confused.
The undercurrent, here, at Westover's, and elsewhere, wafts around the theme that Johnson committed some ethical gaffe.
For this to be true, it must be the assumption that Johnson lied about his "conversations with judges." Nowhere does anyone come out and say that, though.
If he did, indeed, have those conversations, it's not HIS ethics that are wanting. He's not the judge, and he has no obligation to avoid the subject. It's the justices' ethical duty to avoid such comment, much less such sentiment.
If they did say this, Johnson's just stupid, not unethical.
I've never been one to remain silent for long. Hopefully my most recent commentary at MNCR could jumpstart the real debate on this issue.
