ELLISON’S MEMORY CLEARS ABOUT HIS PREVIOUS TAX PROBLEMS
By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 15, 2006
When asked about his previous tax problems, Ellison "knew of none…":
"We are hearing questions about two tax liens placed on Ellison’s home; one by the state of Minnesota for $1,529.00 on 03/31/1997, settled on 12/28/2000 and another by the federal government 03/11/2002 for $18,301.00 settled 12/30/2002. The settlements occurred just before he took office in 2003. We asked him about tax liens on his property last week and he said he knew of none and led us to believe the information may have been specious." Source: Checks and Balances, May 4, 2006
But less than two weeks later, Ellison remembered he had tax problems:
"When he [Keith Ellison] started his own firm and wasn't incorporated, Ellison said he made tax mistakes and ran into trouble. He ended up paying $25,000 in back taxes, interest and penalties." Source: Star Tribune, May 15, 2006

The fact that Keith E. “Hakim” refuses to level
with us until he’s caught by the Mcclatchy propaganda agency should be of no suprise to
anyone who has a somewhat objective view of how
Democrat inner city politics works in this country! I wonder if your old friend Tim O’brien
at the STRIB will give MDE any credit for breaking that story ?

Joe pointed this other bit of revisionism out a couple of days ago, but here’s the evidence of how the Ellison campaign has scrubbed it’s website of references to Cynthia McKinney. I’m not really sure why they felt the need to do this (as McKinney is also an endorsed Democratic congressional candidate), but the fact that they did it is enlightening nonetheless:

Oh my god! A website changed during a campaign.
I think this deserves a congressional investigation. Anyone who makes changes to a website should be charged with a felony. If Keith Ellison doesn’t get 10 years in prison for this, I will lose all faith in the justice system.

Keep Digging,
You’re absolutely right. I don’t know what I was thinking.
Like you said before: why should Ellison be held accountable for things he and his campaign have said and done when George W. Bush won’t even admit that he used cocaine in the 1970′s.
I think I’m beginning to understand your form of “logic”.

Keep Digging-
your attempt at sarcasm was enjoyable, but the fact remains that Ellison removed the Cynthia McKinney quote precisely because he knew of the anti-Semitic leanings of McKinney and knew that would look bad now that he’s the endorsed candidate under increased scrutiny for his racist past.
Unfortunately for Keith, someone at his campaign is a little careless and forgot to “scrub” the Cynthia McKinney quote from the same article posted on his blog (scroll down to his April 16 post):

whoops!
Shoot, it’s just not that easy to get away from one’s hateful past.
