MDE FROM THE ARCHIVES: WHY IS TIM WALZ “AN INDEPENDENT LEADER…
By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 18, 2006
Click here for previous post I wrote about Tim Walz claiming to be an "independent leader." It really looks like Tim Walz is hidding his party affiliation from the voters of the 1st CD.

Yep. Putting your endorsement on the center of the main page sure is hiding it. And, I bet the voters of the first district will see on the endorsement page that he was endorsed by Walter Mondale, John Kerry, Jim Oberstar, Betty McCollum, the DFL Veterans Caucus, and just about every labor group in the first district, and think, “Well, he didn’t say on one page of his website that he was a Democrat, so I bet despite all these crazy liberal supporters, he is really a REPUBLICAN!”
Yep. I think his strategy will be to get all the Democrats in the district, and then let all the Republicans that are this stupid push him over the top. What a tactician Tim Walz is.

I thought it was funny in 04; every single DFLer in the state used the term “Independent Voice.” As in: “Frank Moe, an Independent Voice for Beltrami County.” The term must have tested well.
I thought, how are all these “Independent Voices” going to work together as a caucus if they get elected? Then sure enough, 13 “Independent Voice” DFL legislative candidates got elected.
Who is more in bed with their party? Tim or Gil? How often does Gil vote the Bush way? How much money did he take from Jack Abramoff? Didn’t Gil back out the Senate race at the urging of the White House (kind of like TPaw?)? Isn’t he going back on his term limits pledge? How “independent” is Gil? He is going to have to work over time seperating himself from Bush and Tom Delay.
If the 1st CD race ends up being a head to head “independent” face-off, Tim Walz will win hands down.

Uh, yeah, this part must be French or something:
BREAKING NEWS: Tim Walz was unanimously endorsed by the DFL in his run for Congress! Click Here to see his announcement speech. QuickTime required.
Because “the DFL” must mean something other than the DFL.
