I seem to remember an article recently citing numbers released by the State Auditor’s office (occupied by a Republican, no less) that indicated that Governor Pawlenty’s staff budget had increased to record levels in the past four years.

This, on top of the fact that most members of the state bureaucracy are permanent workers who stay in their jobs regardless of which party is in power. #8 is nothing more and nothing less than a self-persecuting, “Poor us look at what the big bad Democrats do to us” talking point straight out of the radical right-wing playbook. It’s no more true than it ever has been, and if I were a state employee I would be insulted beyond belief.

The DFL controls the day to day bureaucracy we call government. It’s not a stretch to think they sent this stooge out to do their bidding. Itâ€™s typical that we tax payers could get stuck paying the salary for such a stooge.

I think conflating some kid with lawn signs and the DFL is a bit much. Do you really want the MNGOP to be held responsible for the actions of all their supporters?

Nice try on sensationalizing a very dull event though; that’s at least one thing I can always count on you for.

I don’t think this stoops quite to the level of the protest in front of the Carpenter’s Union hall in St. Paul on May 3, 2005. You know, the one where the stooge from the MN GOP recruited some college kids to protest a speech by John Kerry at which Senator Kerry was advocating for a plan to provide health care for the children of our country.

That stooge was so proud of himself he wouldn’t even provide his name when asked.

Don’t forget that RT Rybak showed what a class act he is when President Bush spoke at the Excel Energy center two years ago. RT had his driver take him to St Paul so he could protest against the President. Wow, where does Minneapolis find leadership like that?

While I don’t support the governor, why not let him have his day instead of this tacky crap that only makes the Democrats look desprate. If someone is going to vote Pawlenty in November because he got 30 seconds of news in May, then we’ve all lost.

Challange the governor on the issues over the next few days, but don’t fight an announcment with lawn signs, it’s a sign of desperation and an unwillingness to have a fair and open process.
