KLOBUCHAR’S LOBBYIST PAST LEADS TO CHARGES OF HYPOCRISY

By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 22, 2006

"Minnesota Republican Party chairman Ron Carey called DFL U.S. Senate candidate Amy Klobuchar a hypocrite Wednesday for criticizing the influence of lobbyists, because she was one in the 1980s and '90s.

'Amy Klobuchar often rails against corporate lobbyists, but she forgets to mention that she lined her pockets for 12 years as a corporate lobbyist,' Carey said at a State Capitol news conference." Source: Star Tribune, June 22, 2006

"A gap exists between Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar’s rhetoric and work history in regard to lobbying, charged Republican Party State Chairman Ron Carey on Wednesday (June 21).

At a Capitol press conference, Carey attacked Klobuchar — Democratic U.S. Senate candidate — for verbally sticking it to lobbyists while herself being a lobbyist for over a decade.

Klobuchar began working as a lobbyist in the late 1980s,

'There’s a disconnect in here somewhere,' said Carey, accusing Klobuchar of hypocrisy." Source: ECM Publishing, June 22, 2006

Gee, maybe Airhead Amy can invite noted military strategist Jack “Fight it from Okinawa” Murtha to visit Minnesota for a fundraiser. Considering Jack-o was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Abscam scandal back 26 years ago, he’d fit right in with Lil Airhead Amy’s corrupt campaign, laiden with hypocrisy.
