LOUREY CAMPAIGN MANAGER PURCHASES HATCH-DUTCHER DOMAIN NAMES #2

By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 22, 2006

Last evening I spoke with high ranking sources with Mike Hatch's campaign.  I informed them that www.hatchdutcher.com and www.hatchdutcher.org had been purchased by Becky Lourey's campaign manager Joseph Barisonzi.  Mr. Barisonzi never notified Hatch's campaign that he purchased the domain names.

The source I spoke with thought it was "weird" that Barisonzi didn't tell the campaign he purchased the domain names since he claimed his purchased them "to prevent Republican operatives from getting to it first."

I was only informed that Barisonzi is no longer the campaign manager and that he and other key staffers have left Becky Lourey's campaign.  This information was only confirmed by speaking with former Lourey staffers.

Checks and Balances reported yesterday on the Barisonzi's spending spree:

Becky Lourey Campaign Manager Joe Barisonzi got caught with his hand in the cookie jar when he was linked to the purchase of the domain names http://hatchdutcher.com and http://hatchdutcher.org.  We understand his statement is he wanted to prevent these names from falling into Republican hands, but then if he is interested in doing the Attorney General Mike Hatch campaign a favor why doesn’t he just give the names to them.

I tip my hat to Minnesota Campaign Report for breaking this story.

I appreciate it – who knows if Towle would ever acknowledge in a straightforward manner who beat him to the public release of the story.
