I detect a double standard here if MArk Kennedy can get VP Dick Cheney to come to Minnesota to help raise tens of thousands of dollars and charge a $1,000 donation for a picture with a donor, Amy can get whomever she needs to gove a keynote speech. It’s not like she is taking money from Special Interests as do many Republican andidates do. Let’s be balanced here than just criticizing the Democrats. All this sniping going by the Republican Party about Democrat candidates is just showing how desperate they are to win this mid-term election at any cost. This election is about ISSUES and nothing more.

Of course ! The Dems always criticize PAC money,
lobbyists,special interests etc. until they get
caught taking the money ! Then like our friend
“Archer Dem” they come out with”…it takes money
for better or worse” or some other moral equivlant! Perhaps some of you might remember the
most famous one of them all; when Paul Wellstone
said “…I’m not going to unilaterally disarm.!”
and then he outraised Rudy Boschwitz by several
million dollars in 1996. What do these do on
Saturday or Sunday mornings ?

I agree with Dave. To win in politics it takes money, for better or for worse. Amy fundraised with Tom Harkin, Walz with Garrison, and Mark Kennedy with Dick Cheney. Regardless of how much you want to distance yourself from certain aspects of Washington, the fact that you need to raise money and that they are the single most effective way of doing so can’t be diminished.

Lay off the fluff pieces.

Remember Paul Wellstone? One of his campaign lines was “I’m for the little feller, not the Rockefeller”. Well, he went to Hollywood and held a huge fundraiser at, ahem, a Rockefeller home.

Having said that, I wish both sides would acknowledge that huge fund raising will be going on and don’t get into petty agruements about it. They aren’t going to gain votes by harping on this sort of thing.

Another note. Lke the Gear Daddies and Martin Zeller, but since he’s gotten into politics, I’ve boycotted any of his products or shows.
