Oh, I’m sorry. He CLAIMS to take responsibility. As we all know, saying you take responsibility doesn’t mean you really are. That’s especially true when you preface your acceptance of responsibility with this:

“I have just learned that the firm made a much larger series of public document requests than I requested, including the recently released Dakota County parking ticket file.”

Which is Entenza-speak for this:

“I’m sorry, I know I hired these guys to dig up dirt. But now that they did that and I got busted, I didn’t really think they’d FIND anything and that I’d get caught. So I take responsibility for being stupid enough to get caught.”

Let me say this in advance of Entenza putting out yet another statement.

Hey Asshole, I don’t believe you.

You have put out statement after statement and every one of them has been a lie.

You could put out a statement at 6:00pm tonight saying it is 6:00pm and I wouldn’t buy it. You could issue a one line statement that just says your name is Matt Entenza and I’d have to have it fact checked before I believed it.

How does the saying go? “oh the tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”

I just don’t understand why any of this is relevent. After all, Matt Entenza is too busy to worry about what his hired dirt digger is doing because he’s out uniting people. And if this over-zealous PI was caught going beyond the scope of the hundred bucks or so he paid him, it’s obviously because he hired Mark Kennedy from Arthur Anderson to do his books. Worse, it’s probably all W’s and Cheney’s fault, or at least Haliburton’s fault. You know, DFL’ers can’t be held responsible for any of their unethical or illegal activities. They’re too busy.

I bet that Bill McGuire and the other United Health Group Executives and attorneys are beside themselves right now.

This company is in the legal and public relations fight of its life and because Entenza can’t find it within himself to tell the truth, every passing day is worse and worse.

We have a guy who is supposed to be running for a job established to protect people. Whether it is consumers or kids and whether it is against bad business or violent thugs. Entenza simply doesn’t have the integrity to hold this office.

And everytime Entenza’s ethics are splashed throughout the paper, so are the “Enron-style” United Health Group issues. Side-by-side, hand-in-hand. It is almost as though they have become the same scandal.

Maybe it is time for Lois to tell her hubby to pack it in for the sake of their fortune and that of the company.

Hatch cannot be happy about this.

Why would Entenza send some goon to seek out information on a single, solitary parking ticket?

Was this Dakota County search by Entenza’s PI firm part of what Entenza plans to release to the press?

This just smells bad. There has to be more to it.

How on earth is Matt Entenza going to explain this?

He told the people of Minnesota 24 hours ago that he only did research on some items within the Attorney General’s office and that he did so only to learn a little more about the office itself.

What could he possibly learn about the Attorney General’s office by looking into a parking ticket that Mike Hatch got while leaving his vehicle in a Dakota County Park? And what was he suspicious of?

I’m afraid Mr. Entenza might be finished.
