"Several weeks ago, we wrote that we thought that Fifth District Congressional candidate Rep. Keith Ellison's (DFL-Minneapolis) campaign was over. We still maintain that Ellison's candidacy has been damage beyond repair and that Democrats won't say that but they'll vote that way in the primary. However, worth noting is that later this week, the following Democrats are hosting a fundraiser for Ellison: former Vice President Walter Mondale, Sylvia and Sam Kaplan, former Minneapolis Mayor Don Fraser and his wife, Arvonne Fraser, and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. I would highly encourage people to not throw their hard-earned money away with attending this fundraising event. Please donate to the American Red Cross as experts are predicting another bad hurricane season or the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the charity of your choice. Please, please do not give money to a self-described separtist and a person that thinks he is above the law he has sworn to uphold.

You’re deluded if you think you’ve seriously harmed the Ellison campaign. He’s going to win the primary and the general election with ease. He’ll go on to represent Minneapolis for several decades.

I wonder if Don Fraser and Ellison will share any war stories about Sharif Willis and the “United for Peace” era in Minneapolis.
One would think Fraser would want to distance himself from what was probably the low point of his tenure as mayor, if not his whole political career.

It’s a sad day for Minneapolis to see so many of their leaders lending their names to such a low life as Keith Ellison. They will one day come to regret this lack of judgment.

Rather than helping fill Keith’s campaign coffers, perhaps the money that is raised at this event should be earmarked to help pay his overdue parking ticket fines and bring his home up to city ordinance levels. A varnish of respectability, no matter how acquired, might be a good thing for Ellison.

I am led to believe, and I can’t prove this (yet), that Ellison doesn’t really live in the house he lists as his address. Could this be another Jesse Ventura incident (in his last days as Brooklyn Park mayor there were questions on whether or not he still lived in his BP home or had moved to Maple Grove).
Perhaps a tip for one of the other campaigns to check on. While I don’t know if this is true, given all the other problems this con man has I tend to believe there’s a real possibility.

Shazam! SHOCKING! Sam and Sylvia Kaplan are members of that GREAT, NON-PARTISON group…Growth and Justice…who bought the full page ad in the StarTrib a month or so back.
Sam Kaplan: $83,550 in campaign contributions, 100% to DFL candidates/organizations
Sylvia Kaplan: $22,825 in campaign contributions, 100% to DFL candidates/organizations.
So I’m just SHOCKED that they would hold a fundraiser for uber-lib Ellison. SHOCKED, I tell you!

I’ll take the word of hard evidence over political DFL hacks who will elect anything that fogs a mirror as long as they hold to the lefty line.

That list or supporters are jewish, law abiding and white. They are some of the most successful people in politics and business.
So, they’re to stupid to know how to look out for themselves? How on earth did they make it to where they are then without your help?
I haven’t seen Sharon Sayle Belton’s name on anything since she left office.

If Jim Ramstad had the record that Con Man Ellison has, he wouldn’t get my vote. And that would be true of most Republicans I know.
The fact is, had a Republcan endorsed candidate had the trouble Ellison has, they would have been pushed out of the race a long time ago.
For DFL’ers, Ellison’s troubles with the law, his inability to OBEY the law, are not only irrelevent to them, they’re somehow badges of honor. To them it shows “whitey” is out to “get” him. (Reality is that he’s just a con man and these guys don’t care because he’s THEIR con man.)

If you haven’t read all the hard evidence that has been presented here over the past month or so I can’t help you. There’s more evidence that he’s a con man than that you breathe air. If elected, he WILL be an embarrassment to our state. He’ll make Cynthia McKinney look moderate and sane.

You presented zero evidence. The sum total of what I’ve read to date is that Ellison had a brief and oblique relationship with the nation of Islam when he was 20.
If you are good to your word, considering the President was an alchoholic until he was 43, considering he had a DUI ticket squelched, then we can assume you’ll be vilifying him forthwith.
Further, considering Tom Delay was indicted for much more than unpaid parking tickets, and oh by the way, nearly every home is out of compliance with code, well considering Delay’s indictment and Cunningham’s conviction go uncommented on here, by you, we’ll have to assume you didn’t hear about them when making your harangue about the piety of Republicans.
Ellison’s flirtation with NoI is of no more and no less mert for consideration that Bush’s party boy conduct, except in that Ellison ceased his juvenile mistakes at age 20, Bush took more than twice as long to come to a sober reality.
Bottom line, put up evidence of his “con man” status or shut up, as the saying goes. Until then, you’re just another hate filled right-wing nutball. You accuse Ellison of hating Jews, yet it was the right-wing “christian” community that lauded “Passion of the Christ” and Pat Robertson, Bob Jones, and Jerry Falwell who made comments following it’s release about the root cause of many problems stemming back to the fundamental inability to trust Jews.

It’s funny that the majority of the non-ultra-orthodox jewish community sees the duplicity and hollowness of the right as simply self-seeking vote driven bulloney. If anyone is attempting a con, it’s the right, upon Judaism and it’s members that they love and embrace Jewry. I’m sure it’s purely coincidence that Neo-Nazi organizations nearly envariably are also pro-gun, anit-immigrant and provide whatever little support they lend to an unappreciative republican electorate. I don’t blame the republicans for that, but it is instructive in where the visceral and historic roots of nazi-ism in the US lay, namely in the anti-black, pro-military, pro-gun, anti-tax zealots that call themselves christian and then would drag men like Ellison behind their truck for gettin uppity, and they’d happily do the same if the person’s name is Keith Ellison or Eli Weisel. Wow! RC you are a Paranoid Schizophrenic. I take it you cant read very well either. If you read back, Ellison has been PROVEN to have been part of the NOI for many years. It wasnt a flirtation and it proved his hatred for Whites and particularly Jews was something he was very public with.
Also, from looking at the guest list I would conclude that the Jews on the list are either self hating or very uniformed as to the character of this clown.
You need to lay off the Kool Aid.

I live 100 miles west of Minneapolis and I could really care less what their voters do but I must observe that Ellison is the perfect canidate for them. Sleazy, whiney, excuse-making, corrupt, lying, you know the whole litany. Go ahead, elect him-it’ll just be more ammunition for the Republicans. And for DFL’ers reading this, please call Dean Elton Johnson and tell him to move and run for congress in Minneapolis. You’d really like him.

When are the people from Minnesota going to wake up and see that Keith Ellison is a shame. He is anti-semetic, anti-white, anti-law. The only reason the guy is running is because he is looking for a pay increase. Ellison has never made over 6 figures. Ellison is bad for the DFL Party, the 5th District, the State of Minnesota and the US as a whole. Walter Mondale should be ashamed of himself.
There is nothing wrong with electing a Black Muslim to Congress. The only problem is that Keith Ellison is the wrong Black Muslim!
