My God. Mr. Hanna is there any sunlight that makes it through? Any at all?

From your own link:

"A mumpsimus is either 'a person who persists in a mistaken expression or practice' or 'an erroneous practice, use of language, or belief that is obstinately adhered to'."

A person stuck in old fashioned ideas??? Ahhh, just a sec., I see the problem....no pictures.

As to the Dumpster Queen...I think you're trying to say that you think people should be able to say what they want on their own time...Right?

'K. Me too.

So if the Queen stays off the U's computers altogether during work hours she should be good to go.

BTW...the only free beer I've ever heard about was being passed out on a bus outside an AA meeting by DNC hacks on election day...or was that cigarettes?

Hard to keep track without a scorecard.

Hey, that stuff happens sometimes. Does it happen often or in a pattern? Then there's something to complain about.

swiftee: // leftwing mumpsumis’s //

The word is actually spelled mumpsimus. Thanks for the new word! Although, because it refers to one stuck in old-fashioned ideas, I would tend to think it more correctly refers to conservatives generally, who are typically more traditional in their views.

swiftee: // When a state employee uses state resources on state time for political purposes, it is the excersize of free speech. ... If it’s free speech, why do I have to pay for it? //

Hmmm... do you know the difference between free speech and free beer?

Look closely at what I posted. I said it was ok to work on work time, and post on free time. In case that isn't clear, I meant free time as in on her own time.

Problem?

"When you announced here you were doing another audit of Eva’s online postings, to see if you could get her into trouble again, you were using a threat to suppress her free speech."

Actually, that was my idea thank you very much. ;-)

If she's not freely speaking on the taxpayer's dime she has no worries.

"I have no problem with people doing work on work time, and posting on free time. But some people, most notably the Powerline bloggers, seem to get away with posting during banker’s hours."

Are you forced to contribute to the businesses that employ the Powerline guys?

No?

Well do you have some sort of arrangement that allows you not to have to contribute your tax dollars to the University of Minnesota?

I'd love to hear about that.

"Instead of counter her arguments with facts and logic, you were threatening her right to post."

Heh, I've shredded Ms. Dumpster Diver's "facts" so many times she has pulled the curtains down around her blogs.

In any case, the point that I was making seems to have gotten lost...Ms. Dumpster Diver has DFL sized hypocricy to suggest that she finds the misuse of state resources objectionable.

That is by far the lamest attempt at a reply.

She got caught and now you blame the people who caught her?

I guess you really do represent the DFL in Murderapolis. Blame the police when the DA won't prosecute criminals. Blame the police when people commit crimes. Blame everyone but the culprit.

The only sense you make with your post is that you have no ability to differentiate between right and wrong. A common trait among liberals who's only stance on issues is with moral equivalence.

Again I cannot fail to be astonished by the hypocricy and the mendacity of leftwing mumpsumis's.

Allow me to gather your rather scattered thoughts together for closer inspection Mr. Hanna..

When a state employee uses state resources on state time for political purposes, it is the excersize of free speech.

Huh. If it's free speech, why do I have to pay for it?

BH-

How is freedom of speech suppressed when the UoM asks you to do your work first, then go play on the internet?

Its actually a very simple idea. You do the work you are paid for instead of horsing around/blogging/stalking people during work hours, where the state (and taxpayers) can get some "useful" work from an employee.

If that is too constrictive, well, then quit that job and find something else.

Like, working for the DFL!!! (where nothing useful gets done anyhow)

"I enjoyed watching the interview - though the “late at night or early in the am” posting sounded like a little old fashioned embellishment (as Dean Johnson would call it)."

Heh, you'd be the one to know about embellishment Ms. Dumpster Diver.

If I'm not mistaken (and I'm not), you were recently repremanded by your bosses at the UofM for misusing their computers to bilk the taxpayers who subsidize your paycheck by surfing the web, "cyber stalking" Michele Bachmann, and updating your loony political websites all day instead of doing the work you are paid to do.

And if I'm also not mistaken (and I'm not) you attempted to "embellish" your way out of it by telling everyone you only posted during your "breaks"....despite the fact that your boss was provided with ample documentation to prove that your "breaks" added up to several hours every work day.

Perhaps your med's need updating dear.

Michael, I also saw the interview. Your pious statements about fact checking are stretched a little thin. I wish you would have added, 'not counting my cutting and pasting of Ron Carey press releases onto the blog'. You know very well his statements are thin on 'fact', and long on 'hype'.

I enjoyed watching the interview - though the "late at night or early in the am" posting sounded like a little old fashioned embellishment (as Dean Johnson would call it).

Hey Michael -- nice meeting you!
I just watched Almanac, I think we did a good job.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled political sniping.

"The lesson: democrats must admit to their mistakes, but republicans are free to hide theirs."

The lesson: Roving Hypocrite jumps to conclusions instead of waiting for the facts to unfold.

Nothing new there.
