This crosses the line of good taste.

There are much more interesting ways to lampoon the other party w/o signifying violence.

But, we are talking about the DFL… the party of death.

Where is all the vegan outrage!?!?!?!

Normally I’m fine with some of the wacky things the parties do. But as a Republican-American, I kind of view this as creating violence against my people.

Let’s hope the Republicans don’t have a game where you shoot down the airplane of Democrats.

I thought DFLers were allergic to guns.

Just goes to show the ultimate DFL virtue is tolerance, of all things. Except intolerance, of course, which is where the Rs come in. Those racist sexist warmongering bigots.

    They’re fair game. Pun intended.

Wow, you really think a game of shooting cartoon elephants merits a death of Wellstone joke? Seems like you kinda went from 3 to 100 in offensiveness meeter there, Dave.

    Wow—that party is getting creepy.

  6. Devon Holstad Says:

Wow, a toy dart gun shooting a cartoon elephant? Come on, Michael, is this seriously offending to you?

Come on guys….lighten up…It’s all in good fun – right?????

Anyone want to play “Shoot the Donkey”?

“Wow, you really think a game of shooting cartoon elephants merits a death of Wellstone joke?”

Not so much a “death of Wellstone” joke, as a “Rethuglicans shot down Wellstone!” joke. Fair game, if only due to the basic whackiness of the thesis.

Devon, I’m with you to a degree, I don’t think this is a big deal. But it’s the inconsistency that’s so startling. Newspapers shouldn’t publish Dutch cartoon depicting Muslims, `RATS’ in a campaign ad, I could go on. PC reigns supreme in the DFL.
But it’s OK to shoot the symbol of the `hated’ (Dean’s words) Republicans.

It’s nice that I don’t have to explain sarcasm/jokes to everyone. Thanks for getting it.

If it weren’t for the fact that many radicals on the left are writing books and columns about killing President Bush, this would be funny. It shows how radical the left has become — if you don’t agree with someone it’s ok to shoot them. Hey, isn’t that what al Qaeda is doing too? No wonder Brian Hanna is defending the terrorists.

  12. DJZ Says:
    August 9th, 2006 at 4:00 PM

Chris, you’re really a lying SOB. That’s all.

  13. Chris Says:
    August 9th, 2006 at 4:21 PM

How is what I said a lie, DJZ??? You better provide proof before you spout off. I have it, you don’t. So I guess you’re the lying SOB.

  14. psycmeistr Says:
    August 9th, 2006 at 5:06 PM

I guess the dfl is taking a cue from Hamas. No surprise there.

  15. Brian Hanna Says:
    August 9th, 2006 at 6:59 PM

Chris, when you’re ready to have a grown-up conversation, I’d be happy to explain it again.

How is it that you can support Bush, when his actions motivate more terror?

  16. Brian Hanna Says:
    August 9th, 2006 at 7:00 PM

This (shooting the elephant) is harmless fun.

Now if it had crosshairs painted on the face of a gynecologist, I’d have a problem.

  17. Chris Says:
    August 9th, 2006 at 8:11 PM

Shooting elephants is harmless fun? Wow. I thought elephants were an endangered species poached for their ivory in Africa.

As for having a grown up conversation, I think it’s deadly serious when you have left wing authors writing about how the President should be shot, hanged, etc.

  18. Republicans Exposed Says:
    August 9th, 2006 at 10:24 PM

    Boring post.

Did I miss the attribution thanking the dedicated Republican staff member/candidate volunteer who sent you the photo?

  19. Brian Hanna Says:
    August 9th, 2006 at 11:43 PM

// left wing authors writing about how the President should be shot, hanged //

I agree. And I consider it just as offensive when right-wingers accuse any dissenter of treason.

  20. KenT Says:
    August 10th, 2006 at 5:53 AM

Brian, you sure seem to post allot and at length too. Is it true that you don’t have any friends and so you joined the DFL party and ever since you have steadily scared away all of the normal people and now it only you and the Kool-Aid fringe remaining in the room?
Too bad for the DFL, they once actually had some power and now they have little. They indoctrinate kids by making them shoot Elephants in public places. RIP DFL, Hello Communism.

  21. Average Jayne Says:
    August 10th, 2006 at 1:25 PM

Would you prefer a shoot the Iraqi booth? Republicans can’t be offended by this and then support the war. This is a weak thread.

  22. Eva Young Says:

    Oh the horror…. the horror….

Index File Question: what classic book from high school or college English does this line come from?

  23. TJ Truth Says:
    November 9th, 2006 at 7:43 AM

It’s not the fact that they are shooting the elephant that upsets me, it is the fact that if this were done by the Republican Party there would be a total meltdown. It always seems to be that the DFl is very “dirty” in there politics, they always are the first to do the low blow tactics. All you need to do to see this is to watch the ads prior to any election. But don’t worry DFL’ers the government will save us all, no need to think for yourself!!
