MN GOP: THE PARTY OF HUMPHREY BECOMES THE PARTY OF ELLISON

By Michael Brodkorb | September 12, 2006

"With today's primary results, the DFL Party of Hubert Humphrey firmly establishes itself as the Party of Keith Ellison. By supporting Louis Farrakhan and convicted murderer Kathleen Soliah, Ellison has become a national embarrassment for his radical views.

"As members of the Party of Ellison, Mike Hatch and Amy Klobuchar need to let all Minnesotans know if they support Ellison and his deeply polarizing positions." – Ron Carey, Chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota

THE FACTS ABOUT KEITH ELLISON

Ellison Embraced Notorious Anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan:

Ellison In 1995: "Minister Farrakhan Is . . . Not An Anti-Semite. He Is A Sincere, Tireless And Uncompromising Advocate Of The Black Community And Other Oppressed People . . . Around The World." (Tim Jones, "Candidate Finds Past Ties A Real Bind," Chicago Tribune, June 30, 2006)

Roll Call: "In Law School, Ellison Wrote An Opinion Piece Defending Louis Farrakhan And Also Helped Bring A Speaker To The Campus For A Lecture Titled: 'Zionism: White Supremacy, Imperialism Or Both?'" (Dan Rasmussen, "Minn. Party Designee May Be in Some Trouble," Roll Call, June 27, 2006)

Ellison Supported Convicted Murder Kathleen Soliah:

Chicago Tribune: "Minneapolis-Area Blogs Have Dug Up Past Statements By Ellison, Such As His Defense In 2000 Of Symbionese Liberation Army Member Kathleen Soliah, Who Later Pleaded Guilty To Murder." Tim Jones, "Candidate Finds Past Ties A Real Bind," Chicago Tribune, June 30, 2006)

Ellison In 2000: "We Need To Come Together And Free Sara." (Tim Jones, "Candidate Finds Past Ties A Real Bind," Chicago Tribune, June 30, 2006)

Star Tribune: "Minneapolis Resident Greg Lang, Whose Website, www.soliah.com, Focuses On Olson's Case, Uncovered And Transcribed Several Audio Recordings Of Speeches Ellison Gave Supporting Soliah/Olson, A Federal Fugitive Who Was Found Living The Life Of A Soccer Mom In St. Paul." (Rochelle Olson & Mark Brunswick, "Ellison's Past Views, Ties Drawing Scrutiny;" Star Tribune, June 28, 2006)

Ellison Criticizes Prosecution Of Convicted Cop Killer:

Star Tribune: Ellison Criticizes 'Political' Prosecutions Of A Former Black Panther Activist Convicted Of Killing A New Jersey Police Officer." "In one 2000 fundraiser speech, Ellison makes reference to the prosecution of Malcolm X's daughter, Qubilah Shabazz, as retribution against Farrakhan. He also spoke about the 'political' prosecutions of a former Black Panther activist convicted of killing a New Jersey police officer." (Rochelle Olson & Mark Brunswick, "Ellison's Past Views, Ties Drawing Scrutiny;" Star Tribune, June 28, 2006)

And how does it make you feel that this guy will still destroy Alan Fine by at LEAST a 40 point margain?

Awwwwwwww… Someone seems a bit stimey… Didn’t get enough to drink at the GOP Party tonight, Mikey? You certainly put forth a good effort. Best of luck… NEXT TIME! ;)

Minnesota might be on the verge of sending two wacky new representatives to the US Congress. The likely 5th CD representive will be an entertaining offset to the possibily of Michele Bachmann in the 6th.

    Tough night for republicans.

    Ellison cruises.
Swanson gets Hatch his power ticket.
The (openly) gay republican beats the xenophone.
Dean Johnson beats the republican puppet.
Jeff Johnson nearly loses to Sharon Anderson.

I could have sworn I suggested campaigning on the issues rather than attacks would be your best bet, but, as this post proves, you would rather lose dirty than have to try and campaign on the records of your candidates.

Good luck in November (you’re gonna need it).

    Hello Roving Reporter

That’s right practice your evasive rhetoric. No moderate DFLer in the next 3 months will come out for Ellison and risk being associated with him. You watch.

How does it feel to Embrace Notorious Anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan

How does it feel to Support Convicted Murderer Kathleen Soliah

How does it feel to Criticize Prosecution Of a Convicted Cop Killer

How does it feel to be responsible for the DFL’s demise?

How does it feel to elect a pariah candidate and waste a representative seat in the US House?

How does it feel to be responsible for helping CAIR’s anti-Israel agenda?

As a supporter of CAIR, Hez, Hammas, Syria and Iran will you take responsibilty for their part in the WOT?
By extension will you acknowledge their part in murdering our 2500+ soldiers ?

We don’t need a CAIR supporter in congress. CAIR has much introspection to do before CAIR gets MN’s support

Before all of the lefties start piling on Brodkorb- keep one thing in mind.

MN liberals love to label the Republican party as the “Christian Right”

    With that said….

The DFL is now the official party of the “Islamic Left”.

Hot news!!! The Official DFL Sample Ballot, a four-color 8.5 inch by 11 inch beauty, was mailed late and only arrived today in the mail. It will be interesting to see if more arrive tomorrow.

Steve Kelley had one side of the ballot to himself with his name mentioned five times and a large color photo. An effective piece for certain if it was delivered on time.

Question: Was it mailed late on purpose to submarine Steve? What was Melendez’s role in the execution of this piece?

Ultimate question: Given the closeness of Kelley’s loss, could it have made the difference?

Can the DFL party do anything right or was Kelley intentionally dropped from the ticket?

  9. Jeff Fecke Says:
    September 12th, 2006 at 11:44 PM

Well, we don’t need a CAIR supporter in the White House, I suppose, so will you be repudiating Bush?

    No?

Hmmm…it’s almost like all this outrage is just a political ploy….

At any rate, nice try, Mikey. You did your damndest, and for that, I thank you–because I’m willing to bet that more than a few 5th-district folks thought as I did–that anyone you were trying that hard to defeat in the DFL primary must be pretty frickin’ good.

The Ellison vitocry will come with some fallout, in the next few days you will see a new website, http://www.democratsforfine.com or something like that.

Roving Reporter, you may be right about Ellison winning big in the general, but Ellison v Fine is sure going to be more interesting than Erlandson v Fine.

  12. Roving Reporter Says:
    September 13th, 2006 at 12:03 AM

I’ll knock these down in order:

    1) No moderate democrat will NEED to endorse Keith. He all but won the seat tonight. If you think Alan Fine can get within 40 points of him in November, you are seriously deluded.

    2) The voters didn’t embrace Farrakahn. They didn’t even embrace a person who has MET Farrakhan. George Bush actually met Paul Wellstone. Using yoru logic, he has democrat cooties.

    3) The voters didn’t vote for Kathleen Soliah. No amount of saying otherwise will change this fact.

    4) The voters weren’t asked their opinion on convicted cop killers. They were asked who would best represent them, and overwhelmingly, they said Keith Ellison.

    5) If this is the demise of the DFL, I feel pretty good. Dean Johnson beat the pretend democrat easily. Our most embattled candidate won the seat he was endorsed for, and Jeff Johnson nearly lost to a woman who had to get a judge to rule on her sanity. Hell, the party of xenophobia couldn’t even keep Paul Koering out.

    6) We still have to win the seat in November, but I think the blame rests on Republicans here. If you hadn’t spent the better part of the past two decades trying to screw over the core cities, maybe you would have a chance in the races here.

    7) You can attempt to guess how Keith will govern all you want, but until he starts spewing radical Muslim ideologies, I will reserve judgement.

    8) Last time I checked, it was mostly Iraqis who were killing our soldiers, and so I would be more afraid of a sympathiser to the Sunni and Shi’a parties than those other groups who are a minority in Iraq.

    9) CAIR has many republican supporters as well, including each of the Bush brothers. If you have examples of bad acts that Keith has embraced, I encourage you to present them. Otherwise, I would be perfectly fine with you unplugging your computer snd praying a little harder for the wisdom you so deserately lack.

  13. worried watcher Says:
    September 13th, 2006 at 12:13 AM

so it’s mostly iraqis killing our men over there, is it, you putz? the last time you checked? don’t make me laugh. the examples he has embraced are there for you to see. look at them. don’t look at them. send him to washington as your rep. sounds to me like he’s the type who’ll represent your type well.

    Roving-
You keep saying that Koering beat a “xenophone” and that the party of “xenophobia” couldn’t keep Pual Koering out. Do you even own a dictionary? I’ll assume that xenophone was a typo (who cares if someone is an instrument?) but the Republican Party ENDORSED Koering, the Senate Republican Caucus supported his campaign, the Party supported his campaign. Also, what does xenophobia have to do with this campaign? I think you meant homophobia, and, since Paul is accepted by the majority of the SRC (whacko Bachmann excluded), I think you might just have your head up your @ss once again. Do the rest of us a favor and don’t respond unless you have something useful to say.

// Republicans are planning to spend the vast majority of their sizable financial war chest over the final 60 days of the campaign attacking Democratic House and Senate candidates over personal issues and local controversies, GOP officials said.

The National Republican Congressional Committee, which this year dispatched a half-dozen operatives to comb through tax, court and other records looking for damaging information on Democratic candidates, plans to spend more than 90 percent of its $50 million-plus advertising budget on what officials described as negative ads. //

How much of that is supporting your negative research, MB?

Does this square with the messages you got earlier this year from Rove?

With Ellison winning in the 5th CD primary, do you expect a larger slice of resources for negative research in Minnesota?

  18. CrocusPokus Says:

    Hello Roving Reporter

So you’re admitting we do not find wisdom in Keith Ellison?

Reagan said A communist is someone who reads Marx. An anti-communist someone who understands Marx. Same for terrorists and their tools (including islam). Ellison refuses interviews and toes the CAIR line.
We are not required to ENDORSE islam just understand it. There should be no doubt what islam means to us in the hands of terrorists.
Maybe we can reach out to the millions of people in the world without encouraging their muslim religion.
We can reach out to moderate arabs while we destroy terrorists.

American doves and pan arabism should have been competing against each other for the last 3 yrs to bridge sunnis and shia.

Doves have had an opportunity created by bush to win the hearts and minds of arabs otherwise drawn to pan arabism. They can do this without attacking our own people.

Bush is alot tougher on CAIR than any one else of either party.

Jeb et al are probably not beholden to CAIR like Ellison is. He got thru rough waters with CAIR’s support.

    7 What’s your definition of radical ?

8 Shi’a IS Iran and Iran DOES have influence in Iraq and responsibility for sectarian strife in Iraq. Hammas IS Sunni and they have influence in Iraq. Syria shares a border with Iraq where many weapons are suspected of passing possibly for both sects. Some Shia Iraqis including it’s head support Iran’s Hez causing division. Regardless, Roving Reporter would fear a sympathiser to the Sunni and Shi’a parties more than those “other groups” who are a “minority” in Iraq. All these groups are the only reason we’re there and need to remain there. Cut out Syrian, Iranian influence and the sectarian strife in Iraq is reduced and we are closer to peace. Persuade CAIR to reverse some things they stand for and we are closer to peace.

THE PARTY OF HUMPHREY BECOMES THE PARTY OF ELLISON
    Another great caption by Mike

From Humphrey fighting communism to Ellison fighting our own soldiers in the WOT and policemen in general.
Aligning with southern democrats – aligning with islamofascist terrorists – it’s a natural transition ! NOT!
Oh and if KE goes negative on us that will be the end of him. He has no reason to go negative on anyone. Upward and onward to defeat Klobuchar and help Bachmann. KE met his match in Alan Fine
