Yes, David Happene is a hypocrite, given by the hypocritical disclaimer, and by making his sexual life a public issue, Ken Sans is too.
Not to be rude, david, but did you sleep through the 1990s and miss the whole “impeachment for adultery” thing?
If the right insists on being holier than thou and exposing the “sins” of politicians, I see no reason at all why they should not be held to the same standards.
Why are you against holding the site hypocriticaldisclaimer.com is reference to politicians. They are way too skilled for that.

Kahuna posted:

***One thing is, has been and will always be true, the democrats hate the military and what they stand for.***

Both of my grandfathers served; one was in Europe when the Armistice was signed. My father-in-law served in the Navy during WWII in a sub. My brother served in peacetime, as did I.

Kahuna, you may have the "right" to post what you did, but it certainly isn't "correct."

Actually, it's shameful; it's only done for crass political purposes.

Again with the tired old "how dare a stockholder criticize the board" thread.

Stockholders are supposed to criticize the board, and hold them responsible. Stockholders are voters in a corporation.

Being a stockholder puts Amy in a special relationship - by not speaking up and making her views clear, while being invested in a corporation, she would be giving tacit approval to their tactics.

Stockholders have various ways of expressing their displeasure with the board. They can vote the board out, they can approve takeover bids or selling off the company, or they can divest.

Divestiture is rightly considered the final option - once you do that, the board doesn't give a rip about your opinion. You don't vote any more. You are no longer a stockholder.

Amy does right, both morally and financially, to make her views clear on Big Oil's record windfall profits at the expense of regular Americans.

Congress should address these windfall profits and wild swings in prices. Amy is just the person to help.

Mark: // And for the record, I will welcome the day that a President of either party has line-item veto capabilities. //

Naw, it was already passed under Clinton and struck down by the Supreme Court.

That's what makes Kennedy's ad so bogus.

// Supreme Court Deletes Line-Item Veto
Clinton disappointed; Opponents of veto call it a victory for the Constitution

WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, June 25) -- The line-item veto is unconstitutional, the Supreme Court decided Thursday, ruling that Congress did not have the authority to hand that power to the president.
Line Item Veto

The 6-3 ruling said that the Constitution gives a president only two choices: either sign legislation or send it back to Congress. The 1996 line-item veto law allowed the president to pencil out specific spending items approved by the Congress.

In his majority opinion Justice John Paul Stevens upheld a lower court's decision, concluding "the procedures authorized by the line-item veto act are not authorized by the Constitution." //

Amy has people help her invest stocks. Those people choose stocks that they think will perform well. Apparently in this case, they thought those certain stocks would do well. In this case, Amy was lucky enough for this to happen. Note that in this comment, I didn't degrade myself, by calling you a name. If you want to be treated as a proffessional, try writing like one.

I think if you want to talk hypocracy and war, you should grab a mirror there, Big Kahuna.

War opponents are pretty clear. We think the best way to show support for our troops is to get them out of a shooting gallery that they are being forced to stand in for no real purpose.

Republicans think that looking tough on election day is more important that admitting that our soldiers are dying needlessly. If you truly support our troops, you wouldn't be risking their lives just so you don't ave to admit a mistake.

I have members of the military in my family, too. So don' be so smug. And I've never been anything but respectful to any one who has served, no matter what you think.

Kline is the one always hiding behind his military record like a shield. This just shows he has no real ethics when it comes to honoring Veterans, either. He' s just out for himself. Wouldn't want him protecting my backside ... or my country from terrorism.

Can you name me every company currently included in any mutual funds in which you are currently invested? Mutual funds are generally seleceted based on risk -vs- return, not corporations included.

It's information available to investors, especially the companies that funds make major investments into.

You might recall all those liberal groups divesting themselves of stocks and funds that invested in South African companies, or those who did business there?

I agree Geo which is why I said it. It was clearly the folks you hang out with who did it in the 70's.

I guess hiding your head in the sand could make it go away. Facts are facts, you folks were the ones pulling that kind of sick cr@p and you know it.

You also know shortly after that time, the public rejected you and kicked many dems out. What you hope is no one really remembers what you folks think of our military people.

If you don't care about this, it just shows what hippocrites the posters here are when they cry that someone is being disrespectful to a Vet.

Roving not even on your best day could you make me shut up.

Oh yes, I am sure it was Republicans who were at the airports spitting on troops coming home.

That was clearly liberals and we all know what party liberals support.

So, how about you STFU.

While we are talking hypocrisy, how about back when a tiny man would go on about the enviroment and how he wanted to clean up the air and then get on his pollution spewing nasty old green bus?? Anyone recall that joker?

Geo, your threadjacking got old a long time ago. If you're so interested in John Kline why not spend all day every day lit dropping or making GOTV phone calls for Rowley? Then when John beats her 62-38 you'll know all the hard work was worth it.

Can you name me every company currently included in any mutual funds in which you are currently invested? Mutual funds are generally seleceted based on risk -vs- return, not corporations included.

So when Kennedy opposes drilling in ANWR, is he a hypocrite because he hurts his oil revenues?

Or is it when Kennedy votes for drilling in ANWR that he's a hypocrite, because he said he was against it?

I love watching these clowns talk about everything BUT Amy's hypocracy. CLEARLY she can check on any investments a mutual fund makes and make decisions based on those investments. Nevertheless, she chooses to make commercials about something she herself is involved with and making money from.

Democrats here can try to run from it, but the hypocracy is clear and undefendable. It's a weak defense to attempt to smear others to cover for ones own problem.

Geo, what would you care?? You and your ilk used to spit on these guy's when they got home.

I would bet there are many in your party who would like to spit on the troops we have in Iraq!!

One thing is, has been and will always be true, the democrats hate the military and what they stand for.

DemocRATs believe we should only use them for social services and crowd control when the pulic stands up to their poor policies.

Another Amy hypocrisy is watching her parade around town in her 2007 Chevy Tahoe. True, it is an E85 vehicle. Nevertheless, it still consumes more than twice the fuel of a Civic hybrid or Prius.

Yesterday, I was in Minneapolis for the Vikings game. Amy had been at the tailgate lots to find some support. (Good luck) She fled the scene and walked west on Washington Ave. A silver Tahoe then appeared between Park and Portland to pick up Amy and some lackey with a campaign sign. There were three people in a gas guzzling vehicle made to seat seven.

Where is the Prius? Where is the Civic hybrid? Maybe she is filling the Tahoe with strait petroleum and padding her portfolio?

Is there no depth to which John Kline will not sink? If he didn't authorize this he should fire Mike Osskopp. If he doesn't publicly fire Osskopp he needs to quit campaigning on his military record as he bring disgrace to the uniform.

It is also hypocritical to campaign on “cutting the pork” on things such as Kennedy’s favorite “A bridge to nowhere” and a “rainforest in Iowa.” Kennedy voted for both of them. I am not sure about the rain forest in Iowa, but the bridge to nowhere is Ted Stevens, a Republican for Alaska’s baby. He threatened to quit the senate if he didn’t get his way. A typical mature republican.

Is it hypocritical to vote for tax breaks for big oil and big pharma, and then run ads saying you are going to go after them? All the while taking thousands of thousands of dollars from these industries that are ripping off American citizens as Kennedy has? Is it an election year change of heart or political pandering?

It is hypocritical to say you’re for protecting the environment and then vote repeatedly to let polluters of MTBE off the hook as Kennedy has? Google it.

Amy’s mutual funds are not a big issue. I know I pick out aggressive investments, and that is it. I do not change my options due to a brand of company it works with. I grab Large Growth 3, not anything else. I am sure most voters do the same.

It is called CORPERAT RESPONSIBLIY. Is Wal-Mart, Big oil, or Big Pharma doing anything illegal? I doubt it. Are they working unethically, yes I believe so. Does that mean you change stock options? Probably not.

I am sure Mr. Kennedy has mutual funds in Exxon as well. So does that, in GOP eyes, make him just as hypocritical?

Yes, and Mark Kennedy will bring about change in Washington, including the line-item veto.

Any idea why he hasn't brought us the line item veto in his first 6 years? Has the US Senate been one vote short, because Mark Kennedy hasn't been there?

who is the nimrod?

And for the record, I will welcome the day that a President of either party has line-item veto capabilities.

Not sure where that came from (some comments in another thread I missed maybe) but it's right on the mark. Ned Lamont thought he could get away with bashing Wal-Mart while profiting from the tens of thousands of dollars of stock he and his family owns (direct, not through a mutual fund, but the principle still applies as most of us choose the funds we invest in based in no small part on the contents of the fund.) and rightly got called on it. Amy attempting to demonize Exxon/Mobile while likely making thousands off of their record profits is laughably hypocritical.

Does she control the mutual funds that have her money invested in them? Given how the president has gone out of his way to make sure both of these industries thrive while he is in office, I would instantly dump any mutual fund that failed to recognize that fact.
