Stockholders are supposed to criticize the board, and hold them responsible. Stockholders are voters in a corporation.

Being a stockholder puts Amy in a special relationship – by not speaking up and making her views clear, while being invested in a corporation, she would be giving tacit approval to their tactics.

Stockholders have various ways of expressing their displeasure with the board. They can vote the board out, they can approve takeover bids or selling off the company, or they can divest.

Divestiture is rightly considered the final option – once you do that, the board doesn’t give a rip about your opinion. You don’t vote any more. You are no longer a stockholder.

Amy does right, both morally and financially, to make her views clear on Big Oil’s record windfall profits at the expense of regular Americans.

Congress should address these windfall profits and wild swings in prices. Amy is just the person to help.

War opponents are pretty clear. We think the best way to show support for our troops is to get them out of a shooting gallery that they are being forced to stand in for no real purpose.

Republicans think that looking tough on election day is more important that admitting that our soldiers are dying needlessly. If you truly support our troops, you wouldn’t be risking their lives just so you don’t ave to admit a mistake.

Can you name me every company currently included in any mutual funds in which you are currently invested? Mutual funds are generally seleceted based on risk -vs- return, not corporations included.

Yesterday, I was in Minneapolis for the Vikings game. Amy had been at the tailgate lots to find some support. (Good luck) She fled the scene and walked west on Washington Ave. A silver Tahoe then appeared between Park and Portland to pick up Amy and some lackey with a campaign sign. There were three people in a gas guzzling vehicle made to seat seven.

Where is the Prius? Where is the Civic hybrid? Maybe she is filling the Tahoe with strait petroleum and padding her portfolio?

Is there no depth to which John Kline will not sink? If he didn’t authorize this he should fire Mike Osskopp. If he doesn’t publicly fire Osskopp he needs to quit campaigning on his military record as he bring disgrace to the uniform.

Is it hypocritical to vote for tax breaks for big oil and big pharma, and then run ads saying you are going to go after them? All the while taking thousands of thousands of dollars from these industries that are ripping off American citizens as Kennedy has? Is it an election year change of heart or political pandering?

It is hypocritical to say you’re for protecting the environment and then vote repeatedly to let polluters of MTBE off the hook as Kennedy has? Google it.

Amy’s mutual funds are not a big issue. I know I pick out aggressive investments, and that is it. I do not change my options due to a brand of company it works with. I grab Large Growth 3, not anything else. I am sure most voters do the same.

It is called CORPERAT RESPONSIBLIY. Is Wal-Mart, Big oil, or Big Pharma doing anything illegal? I doubt it. Are they working unethically, yes I believe so. Does that mean you change stock options? Probably not.

I am sure Mr. Kennedy has mutual funds in Exxon as well. So does that, in GOP eyes, make him just as hypocritical?
