MN GOP: AMY KLOBUCHAR: RHETORIC VS. REALITY

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 19, 2006

"Amy Klobuchar's plan for a massive tax increase and more government control of health care will kill jobs and hurt our economy. On issue after issue, Klobuchar's big government prescriptions are wrong for seniors. Given her lack of credible solutions, it’s no wonder Klobuchar was so visibly uncomfortable and defensive tonight." – Mark Drake, Republican Party of Minnesota Spokesman

This is a reminder that I am a part-time consultant to Mark Kennedy’s U.S. Senate campaign. Minnesota Democrats Exposed is not created, endorsed, sponsored, or authorized by any political party, candidate, or candidate’s committee. It’s all me and always will be and I am very proud of Minnesota Democrats Exposed.

Kennedy gets the line of the night on Amy reagarding the rationing of drugs under the VA plan. It was the main sound bite on KARE 11.

He also got a huge hit on the VA drug formulary not covering Lipitor. Expect to see that ad soon.

Too bad Mark messed up the line on the 5X DUI case.

This was much better performance than the State Fair debate.

Show me the jobs the tax cuts produced. We tried it your way. It didn’t work.

Jobs have been exported overseas, real wages have been declining, and the deficit is through the roof.

Pawlenty dodged the truth about fewer jobs in Minnesota recently, after crowing about job gains in previous months.

Tax relief went to the country club set, while the middle class saw higher bills for health care and wages fall.

Plus gas prices are still much higher than in the Clinton years of plenty, with big oil taking record windfall profits and all the Republicans blushing and looking the other way.

Funny how the gas prices can fall 50c a gallon in the six weeks before an election, isn’t it? What’s the market dynamics behind that?

I think America is just tired of fear, tired of priviledge, tired of backroom deals, and tired of corruption.

    Time for a change.

Are we better off now than when the Republican’s took control?

Tax cuts provided jobs overseas for corporation run by fat cats here who are the true beneficiaries.

They get lower taxes AND lower expenses by having foreigners produce their widgets. In this scenario, everyone (except the low and middle class, workers and consumers) win!

    Yes, Bri-anna, it is time for a change. That’s why Minnesotans won’t re-elect a dlf parrot Dayton-wanna-be.

    Hanna –

I appreciate your posts on this website, mostly for the fact that they are show the real thinking behind those in your party.

Your black helicopter theories never cease to amaze, from Bush controlling the price of gasoline to the U.S. being responsible for 9/11 and on and on.

The unemployment rate in the country is as low as it was during the years of Slick Willie and those “tax cuts for the country club set” could also be called tax cuts for small business owners and those who invest in business.

Referring to your oil comments, oil was wildly overpriced based on speculation of traders in the market due to fears of Iran, North Korea, Nigeria, and the Israeli conflict with Hezbollah. Now that concerns over Nigeria and the Israeli conflict are fading along with the end of peak demand season a.k.a. Summer Driving Season, we are beginning to see a sell off based on the recognition that supply interruptions are less likely. With the chances of an interruption dissipating as well as recognition that sanctions against Iran are unlikely to happen, oil companies are selling off their excess inventory before the price falls further, causing a race to the bottom which drives prices down.

There are the market dynamics that you obviously spent little time looking for. If you read a book like Basic Economics by Sowell, you may have an idea of how a free market economy works. Instead, you look to socialists like the Europeans and Canadians to guide your way.

FYI -The unemployment rates in the countries that you revere so much is more than double what it is in this country and the whole “government health-care for all” system has only created dependence, much like the welfare system did.

Anyway, thank you for your foolishness. You and RR do more to contribute to the Republican Party than most Republicans do.
